Here's another one..... the equal rights of any minority should NEVER be voted upon by a majority......these things are what the judicial and court system are for!
That is exactly the point, plain and simple.

If civil rights were decided by popular vote, then minorities are doomed to suffer prejudice and discrimination due to "the tyranny of the majority" !!!

The Emancipation Proclamation was not enacted by popular vote.

Why does it matter? Civil rights should never be up for a popular vote. Plain and simple.

Who's civil rights are being violated? Marriage isn't a "right." Rights are for individuals, not groups.

Civil marriage contracts confer to those in them some 1400 civil rights. By banning homosexuals from contracting civil marriages with each other, you are denying gays access to 1400 civil rights. It's anti-American, unconstitutional, invidious discrimination. It's truly disgusting.

How would you feel if suddenly a law was passed in your state banning heterosexuals (or Christians) from contracting civil marriages thereby taking away your access to these 1400 civil rights?

Marriage is a religious tradition. Gays are against all religions.

This issue has been beaten to death.

Civil marriage has NOTHING to do with religion or religious marriages.

(oh, and most gay people aren't "against all religions" - most identify as Christians)

No one is banning homosexuals; they can get married just like anyone else. What you guys want to do is redefine what marriage is.

WRONG. Marriage is a civil document sanctioned by the State. Having a marriage ceremony in a church is a sacrament ordained by the church. If you read any of these posts, you would have figured that out by now. Gays are not against ALL religions, just the ones that shove their beliefs and lies into the politicians' faces to bribe them in submission.

I could care less what the churches think about gay marriage. they can burn in hell for all I .care. If someone doesn't wish to photograph or provide flowers for a gay wedding. Fine, I'd much rather give my $$ to businesses and organizations without hatred in their hearts that do a good job.
