really? because i had never met a liberal including myself who sides with China, Iran etc.

furthermore, America is the only country we really have the power to change or do anything about, since we're citizens of america.

One thing I don't like about america is how americans think the idea that you're all a part of a community and that it MATTERS if other people in your commuity are starving/don't have health care etc. IS EVIL. (i mean the conservative americans). I think it's rediculous that this party of supposed religiosity doesn't value spiritual principles as much as progressives do. and they claim to hate 'socialism' yet never give any real reasons just vague statements about our freedom being taken away. Well, I have a hard time understanding how Canada and Europe are 'less free'. Especially when the freedom index is printed by the Unites Nations every year and America has NOT been number one on it for years.

I think what it's really about is America is a much GREEDIER nation than Canada or the European nations and driven more by the desire to have every silly material thing . So if our healthcare came out of our taxes. (and everyone had their basic health needs met) than you might not be able to buy that second blue ray player that year. and THAT is more important to conservatives (who think everyone is an island and don't think of themselves as being a part of a community) OVER everyone having basic health needs met. Also, I can't for the life of me understand why conservatives actually WANT businesses to pay for healthcare when it could be paid for directly by the taxpayers themselves. Wouldn't businesses have more money?

Maybe it's because then we'd all not be FORCED to work somewhere we have and be a wage slave to a business. Because many people are stuck working somewhere they had for the health insurance when they'd rather work two or three part time jobs instead of being TIED to their employer.

Also americans have this paranoia about government that is beyond silly.

It makes no sense. It's silly.

Also, isn't is really the ego talking when some other country has something that works better and instead of considering it, you stamp your feet and just proclaim you're the best. because instead of doing the BEST thing you feel like you're being put down if you are not INNATELY the best at everything?

Are republicans like WWE wrestlers with big egos?
Because Conservatives believe in a fantasy of of America based on the mythology that AMERICA IS ALWAYS RIGHT, and America is predestined by god to be the greatest country on earth.

After all that's what Ronald Reagan told them.

Ironically Ronald Reagan raised taxes ELEVEN times during his time in office and ran then record deficits.

The MYTH of Ronald Reagan in terms of fiscal policy simply don't match the facts.

Congress passed and Reagan signed into law tax increases of some nature in every year from 1981 to 1987 to continue funding such government programs as TEFRA, Social Security, and the Deficit Reduction Act of 1984.[114][115] Despite the fact that TEFRA was the "largest peacetime tax increase in American history,"

I guess you've never seen police taking actions against demonstrators in France, England and most recently Greece.

As you aptly pointed out in your posts I'm just an outsider looking in with little justification for voicing my opinion on how your country should be governed.
I said no such thing.

Of course I have but you are talking about demonstrations that get out of control and turn into riots. What do you expect the police to do...stand by and look whilst rioters destroy property?

It's a small argument, produced by even smaller minds.

I didn't say we weren't tio. We are not immune to the economic problems being experienced by the rest of the world. This has turned into a discussion whether Spain or America is the better country. What I originally pointed out is that Europe as a whole (not just Spain) has a better quality of life than the USA.

We shall see. The crisis is as bad here as anywhere else although some of the figures put out are somewhat misleading. Unemployment for example. There is a system whereby an employee of a certain age can take 'early retirement'. Having retired before his time....he is classed as unemployed. Many, many people retire early here and that bumps the employment figures up.

Certainly conservatives do not think our country is perfect, you are totally mis-understanding what we believe and how we see ourselves. We are a pround country and should be, we think there is no place like America, we believe in defending our country, but this does not translate into thiniking there is never room for improvement.

You show how little you understand about how Republicans feel when you intertwine the words Republicans and Conservatives. There are conservative Democrats (many of them) as well as conservative Independents and there are liberals on both sides, depending on the issue.
