Ryan's "plan" was a trial baloon, that went over like a lead balloon.

Now the next step out of the right-wing play book is to discredit the poll as if those people do not deserve to be heard.
Lol, most doesn't equal 80%, nice try though!

Why, is there a thread where nothing can be posted that goes against the liberal holy grail of tax increases?

We are talking about the state of the federal budget and debt ceiling, and the republicans in congress standing against raising taxes. I'm pointing out that they are correct to stand against including the raising of taxes in a deal to raise the debt ceiling.

Poll: 71% shun GOP handling of debt crisis

Americans are unimpressed with their political leaders' handling of the debt ceiling crisis, with a new CBS News poll showing a majority disapprove of all the involved parties' conduct, but Republicans in Congress fare the worst, with just 21 percent backing their intransigent resistance to raising taxes.

Others don't fare too well either

Had Obama pulled his my way or the highway walkout of the meeting he called when that poll was taken? I guess if he had mostly Democrats of one kind or another must have been polled.

Now you know that Obama applied that number to the wrong situation. He does that quite often, though, so maybe that is your problem.

There are proposals from the bi-partisan board, which said could cut 4 trillion, there is the Ryan plan, which even the Republicans vomited out, there is the Obama 4 trillion plan, there is the Republican plan etc...So there are plans.
I guess you haven't noticed that Obama's $4 trillion suggestion is nothing but a number with no meat in it as to what will be cut, how many years it will take, and so on. So far all I have seen is the Ryan budget plan and that one surely did have some real suggestions since it was meant to be a budget.

BTW, when do you think the Senate will ever vote for another budget? I would say the day after Harry Reid walks out from not having enough union votes in his state.

Is that the mantra of the GOP? As if more revenue in would not help.

Next time actually read the link.

Likewise, some 72% of those surveyed by The Washington Post and ABC in a poll also released this month said they supported taxing the wealthiest households, while 27% were said to be against it.

BTW, this is the will of the American people. Will not the GOP listen? Or is the GOP for big government that dictates to the Americans regardless of what Americans want or do not want?

GOP jobs plan: Old ideas, fancy new clip art - The Washington Post
Unemployment was 5% or less throughout Bush's presidency, which is theoretically full employment. Were you expecting zero unemployment? a certain percentage of American's are always unemployed, as they switch jobs, move to a new city or state, or just go to school.

So unless no adults are attending college, and no one is moving to a new state, or switching jobs, then we will always have 4-5% or so that are unemployed.

There is more to inspiring job creation then simply lowering tax rates, many of our well intentioned regulations actually stifle job creation. 0bamacare is one example, businesses are begging for waivers, and only the rich corporations or well connected lobbyists, and palm greasers are getting waivers.
