There is NO war on Christianity except for the War created by the ones who need to court the votes of the evangelicals.
Religion means different things to different people and different cultures. Doesn't mean it exists any more than the Golden idols did for thousands of years on earth before the new paradigm of Christ etc was created. Religion will change as time goes on or even disappear completely, who knows but as far as a war being waged on Christianity n the USA today, its absolute fear mongering to get votes in the next Election!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree with pretty much everything written here. Humans intrinsically understand right from wrong without religious constructs being brought into the mix (it's called empathy). Actions have observable consequences (not just legal) that show us how we ought to behave. I don't believe in any god, but that doesn't mean I worship a government instead Laws are not the only thing preventing me from going out and murdering folks or stealing, etc. Sheesh.
Anyway.
Religion seems to me to be on the decline. I expect religions will fight this trend by becoming extremist and defensive, but IMO it will continue to be the trend nonetheless.

And what will replace it? Dictators are so happy.

What inspires atheists? What would prevent you from being selfish, self-absorbed, using others for you own personal gratification? There would be no reason not to, cept for fear of man-made laws to keep your behavior in check. Ruled by a loving deity, or ruled by humans, take your pick. I prefer a deity that inspires me to excel beyond my animal instincts.
What inspires atheists to treat others well? Genuine love for others directly instead of a third party who bribes with rewards/punishment.

Yep, kids are born with all their altruistic values already intact. No one can teach this. Roll eyes.

Human love teaches them this.

And their first teachers are their parents who use the reward/punishment to teach them. Parents who let their kids raise themselves (which we are seeing more of now) regret it when the kids become teens.

See the difference?
Not really. marriage is not a right, it's a ritual that serves society, contracting male and female together to protect the children of this union.
Gay marriage would be a distortion of this concept. Liberals have convinced the gays that they are being discriminated against and must make society bend to their sexual perversion. There is no hate involved here, we are just trying to hang onto the traditional family and the responsibilities that go along with it. Women wear white because they are giving their most cherished gift to their husbands, their virginity, their fertility, their devotion to him, and raising contributing members of society that know right from wrong.
We will not be forced to embrace this new age of decadence and self-gratification at the expense of others and society at large.
Abortion is murder, we believe murder is wrong, as should all decent folk.
Being exposed to something is not forcing participation. Seeing someone pray, should not offend you in the slightest. No one will be offended if you choose not to.
We don't want to be controlled anymore than you do. You have free will.

Peaceful Americans? The same "peaceful Americans" who spend millions of dollars to suppress a minority group in this country? Vowing to take their bigotry fueled case to the supreme court after a recent loss? THOSE peaceful Americans?

Don't dish it out and then cry when the backlash comes...

Yes, those peaceful Americans voted and thought the case was decided.
