So you will not pass judgment on a group until they have been found guilty in a court of law?
LMFAO.
I won't take the word of one group without at least looking into what actually took place, I'd also love to see the details of the contract you're assuming someone broke.
I know this is a foreign concept for you but I have integrity and I like to get info before I attack someone.
From the article; According to a contract attached to the complaint, the reservation included an agreement by Tea Party Nation to pay the resort $579,148 in the event of a cancellation, of which the resort alleges the group still owes $554,148. An 18 percent interest charge added $87,996 to the amount the resort wants to collect.
I read that, where is the contract? Where are the details? All that article says is what the hotel is claiming but that's one side of the story.

I guess I have a different definition of integrity. Not honoring your debt does not equal fiscal responsibility. Claiming to be a party devoted to fiscal responsibility makes it 10x worse.

This isn't a court of law and neither of us are judges.
I've never read the transcripts from O.J.'s trial, but I'm willing to wager that he killed his ex wife. I'm such an evil man, I know.
I wouldn't expect the Tea Party to make a comment, a settlement will be made for 1/2 the amount or less. That will be the end of it, I'm not a Tea Party member but I don't see it as a big deal.
Seems pretty simple to me: they contract for 1,637 rooms for 5 days, July 14-18, 2010. In late June, Tea Party Express canceled.

According to the lawsuit, Tea Party Nation made a $25,000 deposit and agreed to pay the balance of $554,000 plus 18% interest after a year if they canceled the event.
What details are you expecting? If Tea Party Nation said "pretty please" when canceling, or canceled before a certain date, the fees would be waived? Seems the resort has the details in their corner, whereas the TPN leader "has no comment at this time." And this is his second time in recent years being sued for such stuff.

Well, I think it's the irony aspect more than anything else.

When you call yourself the party of fiscal responsibility and you skip out on your debts and the only way you pony up is by getting hauled into court, it's a big deal.
