The Tea Party wants this to turn into a Christian theocracy. That's worse.

Separate issue. I'm speaking about how people want to "stop" the tea party.

Send those spending addicts to rehab. Anything else is just living in denial. Any money you give them only goes to their addiction.

They are going to promote following the Constitution by doing something unconstitutional? (Defaulting on our debt is a violation of the 14th Amendment).

I am right and the OP is correct. You Tpers do not want the debt ceiling raised. That is what Paul is advocating isn't it. Why give the detailed explanation that not raising the debt ceiling will have little impact if he was in fact wanting to raise the debt ceiling. HE does not want to raise the debt ceiling. He is just saying it is not necessary. Just be intellectually honest about it.
Where did you get your economics degree?

No it doesn't. Current federal debt obligations already have a locked in interest rate. They pay a fixed coupon rate.

He can't use the 14th. Section 5 gives Congress the power to enforce the 14th.

Section 4. The validity of the public debt of the United States, authorized by law, including debts incurred for payment of pensions and bounties for services in suppressing insurrection or rebellion, shall not be questioned. But neither the United States nor any State shall assume or pay any debt or obligation incurred in aid of insurrection or rebellion against the United States, or any claim for the loss or emancipation of any slave; but all such debts, obligations and claims shall be held illegal and void.
Section 5. The Congress shall have power to enforce, by appropriate legislation, the provisions of this article.

Not true. Theocrats are generally not supportive of Ron Paul, the father of the Tea Party. Liberals keep making the intentional mistake of perpetuating lies.

Can't default. We take in too much money to even come close. Just cut off all necessary gov't agencies' budget and you have more than enough money. Default won't happen anyway.

All August 2nd will mean is that funding is prioritized and many people are cut off from the discretionary spending pool.
