Obama could invite Iran to invade Israel and my liberal Jewish friends would vote for the (D) next to his name.

The left has nobody else to turn to. Of course they will continue to support him. It's the indies that Obama needs to worry about.

He doesn't have to scare anyone into voting for him. The GOP is doing well enough on that front themselves.

This Inde will never consider any of the clowns currently running for the GOP nomination except for Paul, pick any of the others and watch Indes re-elect Obama in a landslide.

I don't think so. After all it's not like they are joining the Tea Party.

Speaking of which:

Obama Rates Higher Than Boehner, Reid on Debt Situation

Appove of Handling Debt Ceiling Negotiations

President Obama 41%

John Boehner 31%

Harry Reid 23%

Percentage who approved of handling debt ceiling negotiations by party

President Obama
Democrats 75%
Independents 35%
Republicans 10%

John Boehner
Republicans - 50%
Independents 30%
Democrats - 17%

Other polling shows out of all the political leaders involved in the debate President Obama came out the least damaged in terms of public perception. There is something to be said for being the "Adult In The Room" in terms of urging for a fair, balanced compromised approached to dealing with the nations fiscal problems.

The things is the Republicans are going to whine and stomp their feet and say no tax revenue increases again right before the presidential campaign season kicks off.

The majority of Americans agree on two things:

Federal spending need to be cut

Tax revenues especially those base on people and corporations that have benefited during this economic downturn need to rise.

The more the Republicans are uncompromsing and unreasonable the more people they will push away from them.

There is a reason many people do not vote. Although I follow politics, I do not vote because it feel it is not worth it. Democrats and republicans, to some extent, favor corporations and the wealthy. I also feel politics in general is a joke and I'm just not going to participate in it.
Obama can probably win again with enough people like you not taking part.
