Default Earthquake: White House Evacuated

"Okay, I’m sitting on the upper east side of Manhattan and I just felt the ground shake. And we’re getting reports that it was felt in Boston and Akron, OH. But the TV is saying that a 5.3 earthquake just hit Washington, D.C. The quake was centered in Charlottesville. The White House has been evacuated."

"An earthquake in Virginia was felt throughout West Virginia this afternoon.
The earthquake was felt throughout the state. The Kanawha County Courthouse and other buildings on Virginia Street were evacuated, as was the state Capitol."

Earthquake in Virginia felt throughout W.Va.* - News - The Charleston Gazette - West Virginia News and Sports -

"An earthquake centered near Richmond jolted the much of the East Coast shortly before 2 p.m., according to the U.S. Geological Survey. The earthquake was centered 9 miles south of Mineral. Va. and was felt along the East Coast. It had a preliminary magnitude of 5.8, the geological survey said.
In the District, D.C. Fire and Emergency Medical Services reported no injuries but several building evacuations."

I doubt the punishing part but I have been listening to Megyn Kelly talk about the quake for several minutes. She says they are evacuating all government buildings.

Of course, the people of California have quakes like that one all the time and just don't let it bother them.

A man is now saying that the difference in a 5.9 quake and a 6.0 is a whole lot of power. BTW, Fox is calling it a 5.9 not a 6.0
