Ahhh, it seems as soon as I kill this zombie meme another zombie gets up and carries the same flag.

Instead of repeating myself, read here: http://www.city-data.com/forum/20224630-post69.html

When one looks at historical time periods we see no evidence that economic activity increased when taxes were lowered (Reagan and Bush) compared to time periods when taxes were raised (Clinton). In fact, Clinton's record after tax increases dwarfs Reagan and Bush. Kennedy, who presided over top tax rates of 70% had an outstanding record of economic growth.

See here: http://www.city-data.com/forum/19694107-post48.html

There is no historical evidence that taxes are a drag on the economy.

"Pass this jobs bill"

Fact Sheet: The American Jobs Act | The White House

just reading through it, i am not impressed at all.

more of the same: politicians distorting the market through the tax code, ONLY picking certain groups to receive some benefit.

Yeah Buddy!

That 5% unemployment under Bush was a nighmare.

Sure am glad we've had two years of "stimulus" to create jobs in the private sector.

Agreed!!!
If each living American received $5 million - The economy, starvation and healthcare would be fixed the same day we received the money. Tithing $10 billion is alot cheaper than wasting $437 billion.

How about they keep the money and not raise taxes and do something about inflation so more doesnt come out of my pocket to pay for this.

We might get the 3 grand but that 3 grand would end up costing us much more

so NO

At the beginning of his speech, the president says that his bill "is paid for."

however, when you read the proposal at whitehouse.gov , at the very end, he reveals his plan to pay for it: pass the buck to this "Super committee" to find hundreds of billions in cuts, just like magic.

TEFRA?

No. Tax cuts don't cause deficits. Spending does that.

Bush increased the debt by $4 trillion over eight years.

Obama will do the same thing in three years.

FYI the economy expanded under Bush.
