This is quite interesting out of all the non-stop hype and the GOP supporters basically on their knees begging Christie and Rubio to run, both bow out. Also why have none of the GOP "heavy hitters" like Christie, Rubio, Jeb Bush, Boehner,etc,.. jumped into the race if they are so convinced they could beat Obama?
and your point

what, because 'someone' is NOT going to run

hows the BIDEN candidency going

More loonie lefty logic.

NOWHERE did Palin, Christie or Rubio say they WERE going to run.

You CANNOT drop from the race if you NEVER entered it.

The left is getting more desperate every day.

Denial, denial.

One can "bow out", "defer", "turn down" without "dropping out" and without having already been in the race.

The main point is that GOP supporters have been clamoring for, and donors and party bigwigs have desperately been courting, some of these individuals in the hopes that they would run and "mop the floor with Obama." You can find many posts here on C-D predicting that Palin, Christie, or Rubio would be the GOP's winning candidate and expressing hopes that one or the other of them would enter the race.

It's getting like a game of "this little piggy." All the hoped-for alternatives to the sorry GOP field are going wee, wee, wee, all the way home.

or do you forget the mudslinging form the left as they tried to eat each other in their primaries, back on 08...remember Biden saying obama was inexperienced..or hillary asking if he(obama) was born in the uSA

I hope Hillary runs against obama for the primary

What does the political manuevering and competition within the party have to do with the situation of the GOP currently having a field of candidates that leaves many conservatives wishing for someone else? Did Democrats in the run-up to 2008 express lots of disappointment in their choices and keep bringing up hopes for outside "sure winners" who would be superior to the slate of declared candidates?

I think this is the most likely reason why so many Republicans are choosing not to run. Politics aside, most thinking people know that the economy isn't the president's fault, and there isn't much a president can do to fix it. So why take a job that almost guarantees certain failure?

In a time of crisis, what the nation needs is a bold leader with a bold vision. I know you righties hate him, but you must admit that FDR was such a leader. He stepped up and took America in a radically different direction. He knew he would have enemies, and he didn't care. He "welcomed their hatred" in his own words.

I think the dissappointment with Obama is that he's lot that leader. And those of us on the Left, let's face it -- he's not. He's a nice placeholder president, the kind who would do a fine job if times were easy. So the nation turns to the Republicans. And what do they find there? They find their best leaders shrinking from the task at hand, leaving nothing but a collection of freaks, geeks and cranks.

My thought as well. He is smart enough to realize that his party is a mess, the political scene is extremely ugly right now, and he would just be the token "Hispanic" name on the ballot aimed at trying to steal the vote. 4-8 years after the next presidential election will be his real opportunity.

I really believe that this was the tactic that they used the last time. Think about it why would they have a nutcase from nowhere run with McClain instead of someone that would have helped him win? The GOP realized that all of the crap that Bush and company did could not be fixed within 4-8 years and whoever is in that position will get all of the blame in any effort to fix it. There would be no credit needed because they focused on controlling the House and or Senate and as long as this is acheived the POTUS will be blocked on any kind of improvements/corrections from the previous administration. In 2016 or 20 they will come back and say "see the mess that the democrats made" and all of the uninformed and clueless would agree and vote heavy republican
