Sorry, but I sure as hell dont want that happening again....but you probably live nowhere near the Gulf, so why should you care?
Right. So don't send your kid to a public school because Columbine might happen all over again.

Better yet, don't take a trans-atlantic cruise b/c the Titanic was enough.

The question SHOULD BE: Why would America vote in another Democrat? The party that has historically led, and STILL does, lead people to believe that what they do/did in a day is worthy of more than it really is. Or ever will be?

Democrats have historically led their brethren to believe that they can sit on their behinds and do nothing, or sit on their behinds an complain LOUDLY while doing the bare minimum aka get menial jobs and believe they should be paid just as much as or not that short of what the head of the company they work for does...

There are still enough of us around who know that their parents/grandparents came to this county without a dime in their pockets and made something of themselves. Despite the racism they faced and didn't let define them, despite their horrid living conditions, they rose above it all and worked for what others chose not to - and those others envied in the long run.

This generation (X) and the one following is so needy and pathetic. They blame everyone but themselves. I think there are very, very few who can say with a straight face that they did everything right and they still got kicked in the arse and lost it all. VERY few.

The rest of us like oil I guess.
Solar works fine, as does wind, tidal and hydrogen. The long term returns on these investments would benefit people and the environment. Our enegy policies are heavily influenced by big oil interests, as well as ill-informed people such as yourselves, which is driving the war machine to try and control the oil reserves around the globe to maintain our oil addiction.

Drilling for oil creates cheap energy, which creates JOBS. I would also advocate for natural gas as it is extremely prevalent in this country and creates more jobs than any other form of energy. Coal mining would be good too. All these creates JOBS.

Jobs is what these people need. Not more handouts as families with kids have access to plenty of handouts.

You do realize that the Gulf oil spill was a once in a lifetime occurrence. You do realize that China, Cuba, and Brazil are drilling in the Gulf right now, right? I for one, would rather see jobs than see people living out of cars. You want these people to go back to work right?

Where is the written, unbreakable guarantee that it wont happen again?
Sorry, I'm not that naive.

the 50 years of good life was a temporary state. we are guna revisit 1929.
yes i did think it could happen. the reason i say that is when they questioned SEC about letting the crash happen. nobody knew nothin. when u walk thru a TSA checkpoint and there is no one there but streaming passengers its time to run.

Wo there. Clinton only signed NAFTA because of a delay by a few months. The president that ceremonially signed it into affect a few months before was actually Bush HW. Planning for NAFTA began under Regan, was finalized and ceremonially signed into being under Bush, and officially signed by Clinton. Globalization is not the fault of one party but of both.

China is also sinking billions into solar energy as well, hence the failure of US solar tech producers. US suppliers can't compete becuase of the lush subsidies handed out by the Chinese government to Chinese firms. The Chinese arn't stupid, hence the broad net they have thrown with regards to energy.

There is no eveidence that drilling for oil creates cheap energy. If that were really the case, it would have been done long ago. Oil companies have hundreds of thousands of acres under land lease agreements already. The reason Iraq oil is so coveted is because it is easy to get to, and high quality. Drilling in the ocean is much more expensive and more prone to 'accidents'.
