That's the reason Barney Frank decided to retire. He's too old and too cantankerous to try to fight off the bloodbath that Democrats will receive in 2012. He's not stupid. He knows what's coming. Redistricting in the face of the 2010 Census and the massive GOP takeover of Governorships means that liberals are about to be set back for at least a decade.
Nice little article today by Nancy Pelosi's daughter saying that mom is tired and she wants to retire....be still my heart.

Heh, you guys are grumpy because Nancy is so effective. But she is almost 72, so I get it. And Barney Frank? The guy is smart and yes, you're sore that he made jokes at you but come on, you guys are funny sometimes. Look at Trump. He's still furious that Obama drank his milkshake at the Correspondent's Dinner. Trump will never get over that and may run 3rd party just so he can have a platform to say whatever he wants about Obama. He knows he can't win but he wants a microphone to get back at him.
If they do, we will say, good, leave. Please leave. We didn't ask you here and apparently your state is awesome so please go back. Just like, for example, health care. I would like to see the insurance exchanges by state. Obamacare says each state can do their own and I think Washington is smart enough to do a pretty good one. But I want there to be a lengthy qualifying period so those from red states can't just move here and take advantage when they get sick. Because you know, the red states would do it badly or not at all.
So the mindset of a Texan just doesn't belong here and that's why they get the side eye on the road and in the parking lots.
How old are you? You sound very child like with my State is better than your state. And because I live in a blue state it has to be better than a red state. You apparently know very little about this country and I would guess you do not get around much. This is a big beautiful country with good states all across the nation.

I have traveled to every state, most many times, except Alaska and Alabama. I am responding to the title of this post and some of the posters here that I see the opposite. If the OP is going to make a sweeping claim and I don't see it, what's your problem? Would you prefer that I just agreed and said yes, the blue staters are all moving to red states? So that you and others can wax on on why that is happening? Because that is the claim and I say, uh, not so much. You don't seem to have a problem with the original claim or others that take the opportunity to, again, talk about how great Texas is. But you do have a problem with someone saying otherwise.

Texas got 3 more seats due to transplants. Did WA get any additional seats ?

I am not a Texan. I just think that this is a great country and all of it is good. Red state, Blue state wherever you may live. I don't see why people have to run down certain area's of the country because of ignorance. Your section of the country is no better than any other section.

Yes, but just one. As a percentage, that's pretty good but Texas definitely has the highest growth in the country with 500K moving in last year while WA got 100K. Again though, as a percentage, WA is high.
I don't mind the CA and OR migration but the really high percentage of red staters, especially Texas is what gets the local discussion. And it probably wouldn't be such a topic if the Texas claims weren't so vocal. We're used to seeing tons of CA, OR and Canada plates the way you are used to seeing LA, and OK plates.

But you didn't complain about the OP. You complained about someone who disagreed. And believe me, I'm not encouraging anyone to move here. Quite the opposite.
"Heh, you guys are grumpy because Nancy is so effective."
"Grumpy" about Pelosi? No, it's much more serious than that. She is not effective except, perhaps as a tyrant in training. She showed her disregard for the will "of the people" when she said, about Obamacare, something like, "if we can't go over that fence, we'll go under it, if we can't do that, we'll go around it..." indicating that like it or not BOcare was GOING to be rammed-through no matter how many voters were clearly against it. THAT is how BO has talked even this very holiday season, about doing things "with, or without Congress."
Then, Pelosi actually dared to say about BOcare, not a precise quote while exactly the gist of it,
"I guess we'll have to pass it to find out what's IN IT."
