Everyone needs to serve in the military?

From what I've read in this forum I'm sure I'd speak for others also that most of you all can just stay home. You only know the concept of watching over #1 not taking care of your buddy. You'd just get in the way.

Barry Obama's boy Rahm Emmanuel is pushing for people 18-25 to serve at least 3 years mandatory minimum in the military.

Yep - but yknow many of us aren't suggesting they should have to go to the front lines, or any combat zone at all, for that matter. There are all kinds of ways this could be implemented.

Yeah because when you go into the military you're "brainwashed" and made to fight "everyone else's wars" (whatever that means). It's such a treat when people jabber on about something they know so little about, really.

You can only be brainwashed if you want to be......

A couple of years in the Army would help you a lot ......

Unless the Democrats maintain control of Congress this fall. They are willing to pass Reid's health care bill taking a chance that they can change the feelings of the people by then so surely they wouldn't be afraid to pass a fool law like this one.

Just an honest question.....Do you really think that our government cares about the people who sacrifice for it?.....I know there is pride for serving our country and it is the right thing to do when we are under attack but, in a war like this current war in Afghanistan why would I feel like I should help my country fight all these "terrorists" that are blowing up things all over the U.S. these days...lol...are they really over here attacking us on a daily basis to where we would need to kill thousands of innocents over there just to get to a group of people who are terrorists?

I was watching a video/documentary about our soldiers who were coming home and left our country broke and thought they would be taken care of for their service, but they came back to live on the streets or in a car because they had no help from the government they worked for and no place to sleep..

I will "defend" my country as a citizen against terrorists by pulling my gun on someone if i happen to see them setting up some device to attack here in America.....I will defend my country when i see foreign tanks and troops on our land trying to kill our people, but I won't be a part of the kind of military actions that are taking place over there right now because it is not justified!

At the same time I respect the soldiers of ours over there for doing what they thought was right when they joined the military but now they are stuck after signing papers so the ones that dont agree but still have to be there i feel bad for.
