"A Wisconsin high school is in the middle of a free speech debate after they apologized for publishing a student essay opposing gay families who adopt children. School officials called the essay a form of “bullying and disrespect.”

"The column ran on the editorial page of the Shawano High School student newspaper. It was part of an op-ed featuring a student supporting gay families who adopt children and one opposed to the idea."

http://radio.foxnews.com/toddstarnes/top-stories/school-opposition-to-gay-adoption-is-“bullying”.html (broken link)

This anti-bullying campaign is, as predicted, being used to censor opinions.

Maybe the schools need to quit promoting political topic debates. What's the point if one side is censored?

Actually, it was an effective way to send a message to all other students to keep their politically incorrect opinions to themselves.

"Bullying"....the New Liberal Buzzword whose only intent is to "bully" people into being politically correct. Because....you know...Homosexuals With Hurt Feelings™ is a crime in Liberal Utopia.

Bullying? LMAO These clowns don't know what a "bully" is. Swearing at the top his lungs inches from your face. Socking you in the jaw just for s***s and giggles. That term is used very loosely nowadays! Get over it!

I wouldn't call it bullying, but I think pontificating about "Jesus" and "sin" as reasons to oppose gay adoption weakens their argument. If that's the best they can come up with, they lose.

Somehow I don't see students caring much about an apology by school officials. In fact, I see the opposite happening. Now maybe the teacher/sponsor or someone like that may be intimidated, but I'm guessing the students will just want more controversy.

Its going to boil down to one of two things.

Is homosexuality natural, or not?

Now I'm not going to state my opinion. Those that know me know my opinion, I've posted it elsewhere.

But this all boils down to, do you believe its natural, or not. If you believe its natural, then how can you discriminate against them, when we outlaw other forms of biological discrimination. If you believe that its not natural, and a choice, then why should the government make special arrangements just for you? No one else gets special treatment for choices.

Again, its all about what you believe homosexuality is, natural, or not.
