People don't realize that Netenyahu has been saying "Iran is building a bomb" since 1992. Yes, you read that correctly! Since 1992, Israel has been saying that Iran is only a few years away from a nuke.

1992: Israeli member of parliament Binyamin Netanyahu predicts that Iran was “3 to 5 years” from having a nuclear weapon.

1992: Israeli Foreign Minister Shimon Peres predicts an Iranian nuclear warhead by 1999 to French TV.

1995: The New York Times quotes US and Israeli officials saying that Iran would have the bomb by 2000.

1998: Donald Rumsfeld tells Congress that Iran could have an intercontinental ballistic missile that could hit the US by 2003.

Haaar! You still at this nonsense? You conveniently omit there have been various actions taken in the interim to slow down their progress; including Iran relocating their facility to a hardened site under a mountain. How about the centrifuge programming virus? That one set them back a couple of years at least.

They're making good time though and makes one wonder why, if all they want the nuclear capability for is the relatively harmless power generation ability as to why they would subject themselves to all of this cost and risk. You ever wonder about that? Probably not as it seems you'd like them to have a nuclear weapons capability so the one country that has publicly avowed to eradicate another country out of hatred would then have a weapon to do just that.

Seems rational.

Israel Has 400 Nuclear Weapons, How Is Iran A Threat?

Easy answer. Israel has the weapons for defensive purposes. The presence of them should be a deterrent to anyone thinking of attacking Israel. On the other hand, Iran is considered an agressor ... including potentially against Israel.
