True colors. Progressives showing disdain for our men and women who serve their country.

Like any cuts..the first to feel it are the folks on the front lines doing the work.
Do you think anyone in an office pushing paper is going to see a cut ?

No, it's normal Joe who gets the cuts.
Teachers, police, firefighters and now soldiers. Budget cuts don't hurt the people at the top.

Not by me!!! Maybe some people forget or do not realize that it was not a volunteer army back then. You got a letter from the government that started with: "Greetings......."

I don't think some people also realize how close Japan got to attacking the US on its own soil. If it wasn't for those who served they would have succeeded. Imagine our country without a military? A country's military is a sign of it's strength.

I think you're special.

Other professions besides the US military receive extra pay for performing dangerous tasks, or working in areas where they may encounter increased hazards to life or limb. These would include working with hazardous chemicals, working in dangerous situations, working at, jumping from, or climbing to places far above the ground, like bridge maintenance, TV tower maintenance, climbing cliff faces, parachuting or unconventional flying. The person sitting at a desk, shuffling paper might work for the same employer, while their co-worker is out trying to capture a wounded grisly bear or perform maintenance on a 200' suspension bridge.

Pay Amount

TxDOT is authorized to pay these employees up to $25 per hour, in addition to their regular pay, for actual time spent performing inspections.

Texas Department of Transportation Hazardous Duty Pay

Or are you saying, everyone in the military should receive this extra money, or no one should receive it?

Hostile Fire and Imminent Danger Pay | Military.com
It is idiotic to pay "imminent danger pay" to soldiers when they are not in imminent danger. It's called imminent danger pay for a reason!

Also, I thought we were all about slashing the budgets. Why should social safety nets take all the hits while military budgets remain sacred and untouchable?

Or those mechanics stationed in Afghanistan aren't at risk because they would be located away from the battle? Would the medical personal also be included as not being subjected to hostile activity as hospitals are positioned away from hostile activity?
A war-zone will ALWAYS be considered to have hostile activity.

You do know that the military is turning people away, right?

Not to mention all the great benefits that go with being in the military.
The pay scale is not a secret. It is what it is.
Again, enlistment is completely voluntary. Of course it may seem like endentured servitude once you're in, but, there are benefits that you conveniently want to ignore, otherwise, no one would join.
