No Child Left Behind: 10 States Receive Waivers From Education Law's Sweeping Requirements

Ted Kennedy had very much influence on "No Child Left Behind". It was a true bi-partisan bill.

I remember it like it was yesterday.

Sorry to rain on your Bush bash fest.

BTW....EVERY bill that Bush passed was bi-partisan, unlike 0b0mba.

And who do we have to thank in the first place for the misguided legislation that was No Child Left Behind?

And that’s the catch: these are not simply waivers to provide relief to states from the onerous provisions of No Child Left Behind. These are conditions-based waivers, and the strings attached to this “relief” further tether states to Washington.

You going to be so complacent about this when its the Santorum Team appointing the private organization that dictates what all children; i.e., future voters, are taught with regard to history, civics, government, etc.???

The problem with National Standards is that they mandate all schools teach the same politicized curriculum and they remove Education from State and Local control, even though it is delegated as such per the Tenth Amendment (which conveniently isn't emphasized much in the National Curriculum!) To learn more about this, I recommend Allen Quist's very informative, fact-based books, "Fed-Ed: The New Federal Curriculum and How its Enforced" & "America's Schools: Battleground for Freedom." Both these books are available at Amazon where you can peruse informative reader reviews.

1) Tell me about your experience in education.

2) Here in Texas, small-minded politics have been a part of the public schools throughout the Perry years.

What you irrationally fear from the feds has already occured in many locales from lower level pols.

How are you going to like what you fear mandated all over the country when the pendulum swings again to the right??? State/Local control may not be perfect. Nothing is. But at least its not going to result in nationwide bias; not to mention monetary waste and inevitable poor academic results. Its also mandated in the Constitution.

You should read before you post. There's always a "catch."

Still going for the "It's all kenndy's fault!" when it had strong GOP support in the house, senate, and signed by the republican president? Sometimes It's good to put the shovel down before you dig yourself all the way to China.
