You mean the Bush disaster Democrats voted for 197 to 10?

GovTrack: House Vote On Passage: H.R. 1 [107th]: No Child Left Behind Act of 2001

You just don't get any more bipartisan than that. This was a failure by all involved. Good idea but it just didn't work.

Do liberals ever place any blame whatsoever on the Democrat party?

No child was about some accountability by teachers and forcing some proof of education before you could get a diploma. Now there is no accountability and a HS diploma for many will be toilet paper.

Yep, all Bush's fault, but the Democratic Congress just stood by and let it happen. In reality, they are probably the one's who caused it.

The day the Democrats took over was not January 22nd 2009, it was actually January 3rd 2007, the day the Democrats took over the House of Representatives and the Senate, at the very start of the 110th Congress.
The Democrat Party controlled a majority in both chambers for the first time since the end of the 103rd Congress in 1995.

Or, did you forget?

I think RTT may be worse.
NCLB was not repealed..Congress refuses to act on it.
Instead states can ask for waivers to the NCLB mandate of 100% proficiency by 2014 by all kids.
What strings are attached you ask ?
States have to give up their state curriculum and use the RTT curriculum.
Teachers will have a good chunk of their evaluations based on how many of their kids pass the state tests.

Standardized testing is not going away.
Now how many teachers do you think are going to line up for a job at a low performing school knowing their evaluation is based on how many kids pass ?

Stop the finger-pointing, people.

The legislation was proposed by President George W. Bush on January 23, 2001. It was coauthored by Representatives John Boehner (R-OH), George Miller (D-CA), and Senators Edward Kennedy (D-MA) and Judd Gregg (R-NH). The United States House of Representatives passed the bill on May 23, 2001 (voting 384–45), and the United States Senate passed it on June 14, 2001 (voting 91–8). President Bush signed it into law on January 8, 2002.

Squirm, squeel and do all you can except put the blame where it belongs, on the GOP president that signed it.

It would be refreshing to see a right winger say to the extent "It was a bad piece of legislation Bush shouldn't have signed" but no, the far right would rather throw a tantrum and come up with every and anything they can to "blame the left",.. pathetic

It's about time someone acknowledged the reality that some kids just aren't cut out for higher education and quit draining resources away from achievers.

The south is uneducated enough, let's at least try to keep a minimum of standards for these people so they aren't running around believing they're made of dust and are missing a rib.

What drivel.
Perhaps you can provide something other than your opinion to support this incredible statement.

Ever sit in a classroom?
Ask people what it's like to teach to tests; no one learns anything.
Under NCLB, that's what you did or you lost funding.
