You may laugh about it, but I think most societal problems are the result of lacking family thinking. Most people don't care about their fellow human beings anymore, instead considering them mere tools or obstacles.

Most of 'societal' problems are derived .. not from people 'not caring' about other 'human beings' .. our problems stem from an ever increasing 'immorality' within the society!

I don't even see increasing immorality, at least not where conservative people usually seem to detect it, and the other way round.
We are having many of these heated discussions BECAUSE our moral standards are higher today than ever before. But not we are not all at the same level.
To me a society is a family, whether some people want to be part of it or not. Now, the question is how to prevent the family from becoming dysfunctional or undo that if it has already happened to a certain extent.
State Senator Barack Obama sponsored a bill that instructed doctors that botched an abortion (the baby lived) to put the child in a broom closet until it DIED. This has nothing to do with the "health" of the mother. It is murder.
Most liberals couldn't debate their way on the abortion topic out of a wet paper bag.....
Because bottom line is this.... If the baby has ANY chance of surviving on it's own...IT IS ALIVE.
Now, they will tell you murder is wrong in any other scope of their preference.
They will tell you we should spend "X" amount of money to regulate our food supply....or the safety of our vehicles. But to do that you have to place an explicit value on a human life. If you don't you are NO LONGER ARGUING PRINCIPLE.
So, either treat EVERY life as sacred OR you are playing God with people's lives.
Your unwillingness to face the fact that you reside in a mortal world with terms and conditions of a finite existence is not anyone else's problem. Get therapy, and quit using legislation to prop up your dysfunctional one eyed world view. You're not competent and your opinion is grievously unqualified to influence public policy.

You would have to do some soul searching and petition the founders of this nation why they saw fit to create a philosophy that permits a special privileged class of white male land owners as the only ones permitted to have any rights whatsoever. Translation= "rights"= the right to inflict themselves on all others legally & fiscally obliged to be pacifists while they are the only ones armed. Like shooting fish in a barrel.

Their kids are living in meth trailers. Liberals didn't do that. Who declared the war on drugs profiting wildly from both sides of dysfunction? Who abdicated the defense of our borders baiting illegal immigrants to America countermanding the war on poverty by IMPORTING poverty to America, building a prison industrial complex for all illegals who fail to serve their slave labor purpose?

No abortion is the topic, turned into an irrational topic claiming it's a slipery slope of killing newborns. But, you're guilty of that too with every social policy you've endorsed punishing children born in poverty begrudging them something as simple as food stamps. That'll teach their parents. Thing is... what they've learned is how much contempt you have for their lives.
