Not perhaps. For sure somebody would have been fired if that ship didn't sink.

Well, J.P. was related to James Pierpont, the author of "Jingle Bells", a song which Waylon was fond of singing. Coincidence? I think not.

He doesn't have the whole story:

Titanic (1997) - International Box Office Results - Box Office Mojo

It turns out the sinking was VERY profitable indeed... a hundred years later.

Someone check the connections between JP Morgan, Bruce Ismay, Captain Smith, Walter Lord and James Cameron... I'm sure if you go looking you will find they were all members of a secret cult brimming with nefarious plots which take centuries to execute... or something.

Ridiculous.

When the wreck of the Titanic was discovered in 1985 (or was it '86) by Bob Ballard, I happened to be working at an oceongraphic instruments company in Escondido, CA. We all knew who Bob Ballard was, and though I had not personally met him, many in our company had.

Bob had a passion about the Titanic. He was intimately familiar with it. He had studied every aspect of the disaster, and was familiar with every theory.

When they returned from the expedition, we were privileged to have a Navy Lieutenant, whom had been part of the search, speak at a dinner meeting of the San Diego chapter of the Marine Technology Society. He gave a slide presentation and described in detail the search and discovery of the wreck, and also spoke of Bobs knowledge of the ship and his quest to find it.

I feel certain that Bob would reject this ridiculous theory out of hand.
