86 million Americans benefit from Obamacare preventive care mandate
86 million benefit from Obamacare preventive care mandate | HR Morning | Your daily dose of HR

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) just announced that the healthcare reform law provided approximately 54 million private health plan participants with at least one new free preventive service in 2011.
....
The law also made preventive services free for most people on Medicare, and it’s estimated that another 32.5 million people on Medicare received at least one free preventive service in 2011. That brings the law’s beneficiary grand total to 86 million.

That's interesting.

Free my ass! Since when do doctors work for free?!

Barack Obama thinks we're stupid!

Medicare costs money! Private insurance costs money! Who do you folks think are paying/will pay for these "freebies"?!

I just love how people think all these things are free.
Freedom is not free.

That's a good one there.

The administration is going to try and convince people obamacare is good, mmm, mmm, good.

For some odd reason, that hasn't worked over the last 2 years...but keep trying.

Wow free? You mean no one has to pay for it?

Is anyone really stupid enough to believe that any of these services are FREE? They have to be paid for somewhere, either in the form of higher premiums for the individual getting these services, or spread out over other subscribers. Unlike the federal government, health insurance companies can't just print money when they run out. Hence, nothing is free.

Even the OPs link makes that clear:

In 2011, the healthcare reform law put employers on the hook for preventive care by prohibiting co-pays or deductibles on things like mammograms, Pap smears, colonoscopies, well-child visits, flu shots and other medical services designed to catch and prevent serious conditions before they become bigger problems.
It's a shame that Obamacare promoters have to lie in order to try to build support for the law.

This is what the USA should be striving for and NOT to continue the "rip off" health system now in the USA with the "whingers" moaning about who they pay for with a UHC.... even though they pay far more for limited private health or pay their tax Dollar for overseas health systems..eg Iraq.

NHS core principles
