Say "Sharia Law" to hard core fundies and see what happens despite the fact that Sharia Law has about as much chance of being enacted as I do dethroning Tim Tebow from his backup quarterback position.

I've always thought it odd that in Christianity, some will go to the deepest pits of the world to "spread the word". I feel the Jewish way makes more sense. Don't evangelize and if someone wants to join, they better darn well make it very clear that they are committed to becoming a part of our faith.

It isn't Jews that are trying to legislate morality or control women. It's always Christians.

And when you really think about it, it makes a lot of sense. You've got to be pretty darn full of yourself and your beliefs if you are willing to go on missions to remote areas where people have had certain beliefs for centuries that you cannot prove are any less superior than yours or if you are willing to ride a bike around with a shirt and tie on to sell religion.

Look at how this thread unfolds.

It's very telling.

Evolution and Intelligent Design should both be presented to students as unproveable theories.

Scientists at Harvard have discovered a medical breakthrough to slow down—and even reverse —aging. The discovery has been reported on CNN and other major news outlets. So why are "Obamacare" fanatics so anxious to cover it up?

Funny - Charles Darwin didn't believe in the origin of species.

If you read his life story then you might find out the simple truth.

Unproven theories ??? There are more books written about the Apostle Paul than any other human on the face of this earth. He was an historical figure - not a theory.

a) all scientific theories are by definition unprovable (you obviously don't realize this, which only underscores your scientific illiteracy)
b) intelligent design is not a theory (a scientific theory means more than a vague, unsupported conjecture, again something you clearly do not understand, again showing everyone how you don't even comprehend the simplest of scientific concepts)

On the first day of a science class, students should be taught the nature of theories.

You know, so they don't end up as clueless as you ...

Charles Darwin's On the Origin of Species opened the modern era of evolutionary thinking. The very name of his book suggests that as we look back in time, we should see fewer kinds of animals. Darwin led many people to think that there should be a greater variety of plants and animals today than in the distant past. And those plants and animals should be more 100 foot fernssophisticated today.

But the fossil record tells just the opposite story. The most ancient rocks with identifiable fossils of multi celled creatures in them contain every major family alive today. These creatures just appear fully formed all at once. And both evolutionists and creationists admit that not all the creatures that existed in the day when these fossils were formed have been preserved in the fossil record.

When you think of some of the pictures of strange creatures from the early days of Earth history, it seems obvious that, contrary to Darwin's theory, there was a much greater variety of creatures alive in the past than exists today. And generally they were bigger and stronger than creatures are today. Ferns grew over 100 feet high, and dragonflies had wingspans of six feet. There are fewer kinds of creatures today, and what we have are often smaller and weaker than what we find in the fossil record.

These facts don't present a picture of evolutionary development and improvement at all. It is a picture of a perfect creation corrupted by sin and running down. This is the same flow of history revealed in Scripture. But thankfully, Scripture shows us how in Christ Jesus there is escape from all the effects of sin!

Even if you teach evolution, after stating god created humans and animals, aren't you still looking at the science of it? You can acknowledge that God created life, and still study a new species of lizard through science. You can also assume god created the dinosaurs, and still look at the science behind how featherd dinosaurs in the Cretaceous period evolved into birds.

So if students in two different science classes are studying the evolution of the bird, does it matter if one student thinks they are God's creatures, and another thinks these are random occurrences that started out as gases like methane and hydrogen sulfide, in outerspace?

I believe in God and Jesus as savior. I can't prove Intelligent Design, so it has to be taught as a theory. Conversely, evolution can't be proven either.
