That's because it IS socialist.

I'll state a fact again....

49% of American citizens pay ZERO to the federal government, and about half take benefits FROM the federal government.

The top 10% of us pay 70% of the federal tax burden.

We now have half of the citizenry carrying the weight of the entire nation.

Instead of lefties trying to change the tax code, they prefer to raise taxes on those who pay. This is because they want to continue to pay zero.

I NEVER hear what the "social responsibility" of the poor is.

My point is that there is no "social responsibility" mandated by the Constitution.

I have zero debt to the poor.

As a Christian, I have a responsibility to be charitable, which I am, but not having it filtered through a large, wasteful government.

The "upper middle class" only get slammed if ALL of their income comes from salary and wages. Smart people find ways to limit their tax burden by investing.

I don't even need to read this thread. Every time a thread starts out "Why do . . . ", it's a troll thread.

I also see overvaluation of goods based on "market demand" as theft. Think about it, you are taking more than what something is actualy worth.

The same can be said of undervaluation of services so the profits can be transferred to people who did nothing useful (basically underpaying employees so bosses and stockholders can get profits).

I'm against that kind of theft too. I call double standard on the part of the righties.

I offer a compromise. I want to see living wages paid. Appropriate pricing of gas and rent. The more we can see that, the more I'm willing to cut social programs (and the taxes that fund them)

uhoh, I said the C word. Guess we can forget about that...
Define a livable wage.

I bet that you are a fan of unions too, right?

Unions and livable wage cannot exist together.

thier appears to be a growing view among a large chunk of americans that working stiffs should be down on thier knees gratefull for the priveledge of breathing the same air as thier wealthier betters , aiming to emulate success is fine but the willingness of many people to take one in the gut so donald trump wont have to is bordering on a masochistic fetish , the rich are simply that , rich , thier not any more noble , honest , virteous or godly

Maybe you should do some research and find out exactly what social responsibility is....everyone living in a "society" (community) has social responsibility, rich and poor alike. Each end of the spectrum does what they can to improve and protect their "society".....if you live in a community/country which is civilized and safe, you do in fact have social responsibility to all the citizens of that community.
