He should have said nothing. There are so many needless shooting deaths that he should address the problem as a national problem and find ways of communicating to the public on how to decrease these horrid things. To do that he would have to be a statesman with skill- wisdom...and original ideas.

A leader should be a teacher. This guy just sits there with his smooth tones and says nothing............Give the black community a harsh lecture on hate...give the white population the same harsh lecture on fire arms and what they are for and not for..That being dependent on violence and the use of deadly force will destroy a nation and it's security- not enhance security.....America is divided and it is the leaders job to unite- I just don't think Obama is capable let alone interested.

I guess the Left/dems/obama are going to get the violence and rioting they have been fomenting.

A little reminder for them - 1968.

1. The thugs who did this should be arrested and charged with attempted murder.

2. There is no "justice" served in beating an unarmed person.

3. The riots in DC in 1968 were due to the assassination of Martin Luther King.

And, exactly, and I want in context quotes, on just how the Left, Dems and Obama are fomenting anything.

Of course you would take it that way.

Anything to protect the memory of Trayvon Martin, even it it means a few whitey's get their due. Right?

Excellent point, and remember that the Rodney King riots happened in 1992 and a couple years later the R's took the US House for the first time in 40 years. Of course there were many other more important factors. However the riots at minimum did provide a teachable moment w/ regard to gun control, which Dems were pushing like crazy at the time. I never forget Charleton Heston laughing about how he got calls from Hollywood friends asking if they could borrow one of his guns, lol.

Now suppose that George Zimmerman is acquitted in August 2012, and there are big time riots all over the country, as I expect there will be. It could hurt Obama equally big time on Nov 6. If nothing else it would highlight what a failure Obama has been when it comes to advancing us towards the dream of MLK Jr.

Hello? Jesse, AL, NBPP, NBC manufacturing racist tapes, MSNBC sensationalizing the incident with one of their anchors stirring racial tensions, obama and his unfortunate racial remarks.
I wasn't talking about the reason for the riots, just the results, which hurt the democrats in the election that year.

Nope, it's pretty much what bsilver says, people frothing at the mouth over an imaginary race war.

The thugs who beat this guy should be locked up for the rest of their miserable lives.

The rest of the Amen corner in this thread are reacting pretty much as predicted, with sanrene throwing a little political gas on the fire.

Typical.

Show me, in quotes (in context) where the dems, Libs and Obama are fomenting this kind of behavior.

Typical.
I think OBAMA gets that award for inserting himself into the incident the way he did, with a racial statement that inflamed tensions. Divisive too...but that's par for the course.

And now we are seeing the results of all the racial agitation - blacks targeting and beating on innocent whites....never mind Zimmerman is hispanic.
