You seem dubious that men kill women who are pregnant. See page 23 post 224 where I posted poster Janelle's list of all the killings and beatings (erroneously calling it forced abortions.)
Yes. I think this individual had the concept that before abortions were available men did not beat and kill women who were pregnant. This actually was a lot more common.
Women even killed themselves when they found they were pregnant and their 'man' did not wish to marry them. Before abortions were available people were much more desperate.
Parents, with a lot more frequency kicked their daughters out, disowned them.
The 'lucky' girls managed to get illegal abortions, performed in not the best of conditions, resulting in death and or disfigurement for some. It was really a nightmare.
All this horror made women terrified of premarital sex, something that I suppose certain people think is a good thing.
I, for one, am thankful to God for legal abortions. No merciful deity would demand that a woman go through the torture of carrying a child that she does not want.

Yes. It's horrible, but at least these days many women abort. Back then this was not an option for many, who did not have access to the illegal abortionists, and being caught in that more constricting position, more men panicked and just murdered the girl.
My husband is British and tells me of the chartered planes that came to his country from the US of girls and women who were wealthy enough to afford the trip to England for abortions.
