Jerry Jones Jr, got more than he baragined for when he tried to break down the door at Jody Hoovers house. Jones, who was drunk and violent, broke down the door and was shot by Hoover who's wife was on the phone with 911 operators. Jones' BAC was twice the legal limit, he was extemely violent and ranting about 1969 and Viet Nam. Hoover warned Jones he was armed and that sent Jones into a rage and he crashed through the door. Hoover then shot him and stopped the attack. Hoover and his wife are an elderly couple, and had he not been armed he and his wife would quite possibly be dead now. Good guys 1, wacko goblin 0.

Huck I looked for those statistics, but I couldn't find them. Do you know off hand where they're hiding those statistics?

Jerry Jones Jr asked for another hole in his head (or body), and he got it. I'd buy Jody Hoover dinner and replace his ammo if he lived nearby.

Exactly why I'll always love Virginia. Virginia encourages residents to defend themselves with deadly force if need be.

It's called self-defense laws that favor the true victim not the criminal attackers as the laws do in states like NJ, MA, IL, etc.

Glad to hear that another crime was foiled by a responsible gun owner.

Just don't buy the hype that "Obama wants to take your guns" - its all a ploy by the gun shop owners to increase their sales (and its working like gangbusters).
