Ahhh, the false dichotomoy! You brainwashed left wingers want to pin the economy on the housing buble and attribute it to Bush but forget that Bush is the one who called for oversight on Fannie & Freddie and we rebuffed by the Democrats. The corruption of that party knows no bounds and it is very evident that the Dems, their ridiculous CRA and forced lending tactics were responsible for the bubble as well as the burst.
Simply laughable!!
If you think F&F were the root cause of the subprime loan collapse, you have been lied to.
Duh, nice try, but anyone with a brain knows that the decline in net worth occurred when the housing bubble burst DURING BUSH'S GREAT RECESSION. You should come out of the wingnut echo chamber of yours and see if you can find what left of your brain.
Hate to burst your bubble, but it was the CRA created under Jimmy Carter and greatly expanded under Bill Clinton that created the mortgage crisis. Bush had nothing to do with it.
And some very influential Democrats reaped the largest benefits from Fanny Mae and Freddie Mac: Barney Frank, Chris Dodd, and even Barack Obama.
And is there a problem with the way the U.S. has treated it's poor? I don't think so. We have not had "poor" like there are in other countries.
Most of our "poor" live in homes with refridgerators, TV's, computers, they have at least one car, a clean bed to sleep in at night, washing machines, dryers, and enough food to eat.
Many of the "homeless" in our society are that way by choice. They have put themselves in that position.
I would also note that it never has been the job of the government to take care of the poor, but it has been the Church and other private organizations that have done so, and they have done it with generous donations from caring individuals (many wealthy). We are not, as many think, a greedy people.
Capitalism is not based on "greed." If you believe that, you have been lied to.
Capitalism lifts up our standard of living. It has made us the richest nation in the world with the highest standard of living, bar none. And it has also given us the most freedom and opportunity of any nation in the world.
Qatar is the the richest country. It has the highest GDP per capita in the world and Norway has the highest standard of living according to the HDI.
Vote for Romney if you want a job and you MIGHT get one. Vote for Obama if you want a welfare or unemployment check and you MIGHT get one. Romeny isn't too promising but Obama is downright hopeless.
BS -
Romney has cost far more jobs than I can count. His only goal is to maximize his take in the deal. He does not care about jobs he only care for his bottom line. He is the croniest of crony capitalism.
Elect Romney and you will see this econo0my fall over the edge as he encourages investing anywhere else as well as starting a ridiculous war with Iran just to feed weapons contracts to his cohorts.
This Republic doesn't have four more years. Obama has it nearly destroyed and uses his shadow government to varry out his agenda while he ignores the rule of law. With Romney we might be able to kick the can down the road a bit longer but at least we won't have more Marxist/Maoist radicals appointed to SCOTUS.
This country has been in the process of self-destruction for a lot longer. At least 30 years. It takes more than 4 years to destroy a country. Obama has only added to the destruction following the destruction of his comrade Bush.
And Obama claims he saved us from another great depresson.. Whats the point?
Obama's claim is true and Romney's isn't .... guess that's the point.
