No, no need to thank me. Happy to help out....!
Is there any other explanation for Obama's current campaign, which never mentions anything Obama has done, but concentrates on accusing Mitt Romney of hating the poor, killing people's wives, etc.?

It is easy to predict what posters are going to post about from one day to the next. All you need to do is listen to talk radio program and then right after it is done you will start seeing people starting threads on the subject. Of course, once it hits CD most of the thread OPs are torn to shreds for the propoganda that they are. Think of all of these people posting from the blaze. That is nothing more than Glenn Beck.

It's gotten much worse and I've observed an jarring increase in anti-intellectualism in their ranks. I grew up reading the National Review and watching William F. Buckley. The current right-wing crowd would most likely call him an "elitist gay" or something to that effect, mostly because he had a rich vocabulary and knew things about history and literature.

It continues to grow because the saner elements on the right refuse to denounce them. I've seen Jeb Bush try to denounce it a couple times, but it would require a few more moments like when McCain told that babbling Tea Bagger in 2008, "No ma'am, he's a good American" or whatever it was he said. Until intelligent people on the right stand up to the neanderthals, it will only grow worse.

To get elected they need votes. They need to appeal to stupid people who will vote against their own interests. William F. Buckly is a good example of an intelligent journalist. To appeal to the intellectually challenged they need dumbed down political entertainers like hannity, beck and Limbaugh. William F. Buckley would not appeal to the great unwashed as he made thoughtful commentary. The great unwashed require fast food hate commentary. You need to get them riled up and energized. They have done a great job of this.

Precisely. The nonsense enters their heads and then the empty receivers spew it onto the internet. Observe the chain e-mails, the wacko blogs and forums like this where their endless paranoid conspiracies are given life day-after-day.

Part of the problem is it is standard Republican tactics, another is that some cannot stand the fact that a black man is in the Whitehouse, and part is due to the fact that Repus are sore losers that whine alot. The far right counts on the sheeples lack of logical and independent thought processes to simple accept whatever crackpot theories they can make up, the proof is in the links to places such as The Blaze and The Godfather News as sources of their facts and how they are taking a break from posting to go watch Beck feed them their daily dose of fear and hate. Is what it is wth righties, do not expect many of them to discuss issues, but instead expect personal attacks or highjacking of threads as their normal tactics and you will find these "discussion", once one understands this reality these boards become easier to take.

Yep, the tweet -> Drudge -> Fox -> blog -> forum pipeline is in full churn.

Likewise the HuffPo -> MSNBC -> blog -> forum pipeline, but on this forum, as on others I've participated in over the 20 years I've been online (going back to the Usenet days), right-wing posters are the ones who start most of the threads, and liberals are mostly reactive.

I've heard silly conspiracy theories about how some prolific conservative posters are actually paid to do so; there's absolutely no proof of that AFAIK, but it would certainly explain the volume (in both senses of the word) of their posting.

And almost on a daily basis now, they seem to churn out serious and fundamental lies, historical revisionism & out-of-context distortions (Shirley Sherrod, Sandra Fluke,The Churchill bust conspiracy, Obama Sues To Prevent Military From Voting, You Didn't Build That, Obama caused the Recession, etc.).

Plus having any sort of discussion with these folks is almost impossible, without encountering all the usual rhetorical 'tricks' if not outright dishonesty, like Strawman arguments, Deflection, Reframing the Argument, Moving the Goalposts, and the many Solipsisms ("it must be true, because I think it is!"). And even if you persevere through all those, the "dialogue" still usually ends up in some sort of outright denial, rudeness, and the inevitable name-calling (*******s, Democraps, Obamabot, etc.)

Not that Lib-ruls are innocent by any means, but IMHO, they don’t even remotely compare to the no-holds-barred intensity, willful denial of facts or science, and just the sheer volume and lack of civility or "boundaries" of the Right Wing movement.

So what's driving all this stuff, that increasingly seems to resemble a religious cult more than a political movement? Is it just the conservative version of Bush-hating, or a by-product of the internet-cable tv-talk radio "echo chamber", or even some sort of psychological pathology, or…? And do you think it's getting worse?

BTW, maybe we can even get some interesting ideas going… before the 'usual suspects' show up!
For conservatives, President Obama represents the end of their world. The end of America, now of course whether one agrees with all the President has done or not, he hasn't transformed America, nor he is looking to end their world.

Yet, President Obama's election truly fills them with an incredible amount of fear. They have to create this fictional President Obama to justify all that hatred and fear.

I recall something Rosalynn Carter said once during an interview, when asked how she felt about leaving the White House, and the new Reagan administration. She said Reagan's appeal is that, "he makes people feel comfortable about their prejudices".

All this neo-con 'new media' that basically tells folks "whatever they wanna hear", often just seems like the same source of Reagan's "appeal", simply taken to its logical conclusion.
