But aside from this information, we ALL know the real purpose and intent of this thread is not benevolent in nature. So this begs the question, why is this any of your concern?
It is funny you say that, because I always thought black folks had sort of a southern accent.
Oh heck, lets just let these locations all do their own thing and teach the way they already speak. Larry the Cable Guy can be an english teacher in GA, Andrew Dice Clay in NYC, Chris Rock in Hollywood, etc. This country and the future of the kids is already screwed...if everyone wants to babble like idiots, let them.

Uh; quite a few of the younger Black girls and women here in Phoenix now have that grating "2000's white girl" accent, they don't sound "Black" at all.
The move to teach ebonics in Oakland was defeated almost a decade ago and it was entirely a political move to begin with as the state provides ESL funds to districts (additional education funds on top of regular education funds) to help districts which have large immigrant populations. Basically, blacks in Oakland were trying to get their fingers on ESL money by declaring black-English to be a different language. The state laughed at them and the whole thing was voted down almost a decade ago.
And this.

That is a very strange thing for you to think. I am from the midwest as were my grand parents and great grandparents back through the mid 1800s, I don't speak with any sort of southern accent. You must not know many black people.
And FWIW, I live in the south. I have a typical (what people have told me) "white girl name" and I have worked in customer service via phone and in person and people when they meet me have told me they are shocked that I am black or that I "don't look like I sound" lol! My husband is from Chicago and he doesn't have a trace of a southern accent either. My kids don't either even though they both were born in Atlanta.

People put language and accents during their childhood from people around them so the fact that they are in Phoenix probably has a lot to do with their accents.

And white girls in Northern Arizona have a sing-song effect gotten from the Navajo influence in the state.
Ain't life wonderful?
