i'm def pro choice and i support a woman's right to carry her pregnancy to term even if being told to abort. China comes to mind. I don't like abortion but that's between a woman and god.
You might as well find a better source. The Bible sometimes conflicts with itself.
well that's the point isn't it? That the Bible, the most error ridden, hypocritical book ever written, is being used by the religious zealots as a basis in their ire against Abortion
Looks like she got the chemotherapy treatment and the cancer won. That is too bad - but its reality.
Cancer kills people.
Time is critical when treating cancer. We will never know if this girl would be alive today if she was allowed to receive treatment immediately......like you would have.
But, since it didn't happen to you or someone you love.....well, that's just too bad.

The bible is a fairly well written bit of 17th century prose but that's about it. You might as well legislate morality based on Shakespeare's plays or Elizabethan sonnets.

She had an acute leukemia - standard practice is to begin treatment the day that they are diagnosed. I spent the last week at a cancer retreat for other young adults, which included 2 leukemia survivors. One went in on a Tuesday afternoon and was hooked up to a chemo drip that evening. AML and ALL require inpatient stays. The other person was on vacation when she got serious fatigue. She went to the ER thinking she had a flu and needed something to knock it out to enjoy the rest of her trip. She was stuck in the inpatient oncology wing for over a week on the other side of the country because she needed treatment THAT DAY and could not have a gap in treatment to travel home. She was in an early stage - still needed the same protocol.
That's reality. Cancer kills people, yes. But it kills less people when they are treated quickly using standard international protocol. If she had my cancer (Hodgkin's lymphoma), 20 days probably wouldn't have hurt her. But with acute leukemias, days matter.
Maybe if she'd gotten the treatment sooner, she would have lived longer?
You are assuming that would have happened.
It seems that this won't occur again in the Dominican Republic - the doctors have concluded that treating a pregnant cancer patient does not constitute abortion.
Since it doesn't - your bringing this story up is nothing but a red herring. We aren't talking about actions that might harm a baby in the womb that aren't directly aimed at destroying that life. You might as well bring up smoking and drinking by pregnant mothers.
The topic is willful termination of life within the womb - in the United States - not in D.R. or any other place on the planet.
Would you like to explain your justifications for supporting such malicious actions?

I am aware of what the topic is. The question is still en pointe.
In the situation where a woman's life is at stake, would you allow the fetus to be terminated? Yes or no.

Could you clarify specifically what you mean by "where a woman's life is at stake"? Please provide some examples - other than your story about the girl in the D.R. That was not even abortion - it was a case of doctors who were confused - and they ended up coming to the correct conclusion - that the girl needed to be treated, because if she wasn't - both her and the baby would likely die.
I'm asking for some specific conditions where the mother's life would be in danger if an abortion is not performed.
