It is very refreshing to me to hear from a homeschooling parent who understands that the "global citizen-social justice" indoctrination being pushed by BOTH parties must be stopped! Our children are the future and it is unacceptable that we allow a global collective to not only make off with billions of U.S. taxdollars, but brainwash the youth into being willing Borg for one world government. Our freedoms and liberties as a sovereign Constitutional Republic are far too precious to allow them to be undermined and superseded by the UN.
IB sounds great. I have a kindergartner, we were just talking about an IB school in our that's in our neighborhood with the other parents at a meeting last night - I'm going to look into it for a possibility for middle school/high school.

Thanks, if it wasn't for your posts, I wouldn't have known what it was.

Many Americans are aware that Ronald Reagan withdrew the U.S. from UNESCO in 1987. Unfortunately, George W. Bush rejoined UNESCO in 2003 primarily for the following purpose:

Most Americans realize the current President has a love affair with the UN and considers the UN's opinion more important than our Constitution. Getting rid of Obama will not stop the enormous global control of our pocketbooks and children's futures if Romney/Ryan continue with the misguided "good faith" deal Bush made with criminals and people who hate America.

Enter IB. What's IB, you ask? It is short for International Baccalaureate. This organization invaded my NY school district in 2004. I have been fighting to get rid of it ever since. The 2009 ARRA allocated over $10 Billion to Title I schools to implement "innovative programs". In 2010, IBO moved its "global centre" to Bethesda, MD. IB has taken over a large portion of Fairfax County, VA, most of Anne Arundel, MD and has a big stronghold in California and Florida.

IBO is an NGO of UNESCO. It's program(mes) are VERY expensive, eliminate choice entirely at the elementary level and reduce Advanced Placement options at the HS level. Over the past three years, I have met with and spoken with parents from around the country whose communities have been divided by controversy over this "educational program".

I have been recognized by Newsday and the Washington Post as "one of the best known IB critics nationally." I am sad to say that I know more about this organization than any sane person should want to know. But I am deeply committed to stopping its spread and ridding our schools of IB.

So please, ask me anything you like, but a warning in advance. I will not tolerate any name-calling. Please let's all be adults.

Private schools are on the rise. For a very good reason.

You're new here, aren't you?

Our local district withdrew from IB for the reasons you said-it was a huge money-pit that took money from AP and other programs.

Why should they ban IB? IB high schools have been ranked #1 in the nation more often than any other high school. If you don't like them, then don't send your kids there, but to ban them for everyone is just imposing your political view on the whole nation.

Please explain exactly what part of an outrageously expensive, controversial, divisive, tyrannical, scam of an educational programme "sounds great".

I see you are a Newsweek or Washington Post subscriber who bought into Jay Mathews' biased Best High Schools List in terms of "ranking".

Please see my page dedicated to Mr. Mathews who is IBO's #1 media promoter of its IB Diploma program. Mr. Mathews knows next to nothing about the IB MYP and PYP which IB mandates SCHOOLWIDE implementation. These two IB programs eliminate choice if your child is zoned for a neighborhood public elementary or middle school. That is imposing YOUR political view on the whole nation.

American public schools should be APOLITICAL, neither right nor left. They should focus on academics, not social justice.

IB should be relegated to private institutions of learning. Anyone who wants their child to be part of this so called "world class" education should feel free to pay tuition to send their children there, just as many choose to pay to send their children to parochial schools.

No, I do not subscribe to them and I have never heard of jay Mathews. I got IB diploma, and I have no idea what the heck you are talking about with your comments. Last time I saw the high school rankings was several years ago, and I known IB has been #1 repeatedly simply because I have then IB diploma. I'll tell you what, - that diploma was the only reason I got into the university which I went to in Europe. The diploma gave me the extra points I needed to qualify, and that university is notoriously difficult to get into. The IB diploma is well respected by US and EU universities.

Oh, okay.

The International Baccalaureate aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect.
To this end the organization works with schools, governments and international organizations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment.
These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right.
IB mission and strategy

Sounds great! Thanks for drawing it to my attention. Will definitely be looking into it for my child.

Perhaps English is your second language and the IB Diploma met your personal needs in your desire to attend a European U. What score did you earn, may I ask? Because, as you must know, just receiving an IB Diploma with a score of 24 or 25 will not get you into Oxford.

In fact, a quick check of the UCAS table proves that only the very creme-de-la-creme of IB Diploma recipients (scores of 38-45) are even considered for admission in such prestigious European Unis.
