An armada of US and British naval power is massing in the Persian Gulf in the belief that Israel is considering a pre-emptive strike against Iran’s covert nuclear weapons programme.

Battleships, aircraft carriers, minesweepers and submarines from 25 nations are converging on the strategically important Strait of Hormuz in an unprecedented show of force as Israel and Iran move towards the brink of war.
Western leaders are convinced that Iran will retaliate to any attack by attempting to mine or blockade the shipping lane through which passes around 18 million barrels of oil every day, approximately 35 per cent of the world’s petroleum traded by sea.
A blockade would have a catastrophic effect on the fragile economies of Britain, Europe the United States and Japan, all of which rely heavily on oil and gas supplies from the Gulf.
That is true. Syria will fall before anyone marches on Iran though.
Funny how old jibbyjabber was just meeting with the new leaders from the brudderhood just last week I believe it was talking about how they were all chummy and were going to share all their "technology" and the like with Egypt.
The way these reports are written, one would think a passive fart would be enough to set the globe ablaze. Still waiting... On the bright side, I won't have to buy fireworks for the year once the show begins...

In the USA we need to get ready for whatever comes, because our borders have been open for so long we have no idea who's in this country preparing to attack us.
I don't think if Israel decides to open a can of whoopass on Iran that it would turn into WW3. I figure they drop a few bombs on a few sites and then have to suffer the wrath from the international community, then business as usual would go on.
Just my opinion, of course.
