So? Why can't one argue to change the status quo?

The OP is arguing that it would be beneficial if passing this test were a requirement for voting.

Why don't you present an argument as to why it should not - if you disagree?

The Civil Rights Act of 1964 is not the Constitution.

And the Constitution nowhere bans state or even federal voting qualification tests.

Don't take my word for it - look it up.

And why would the common voter need to know this detail?:

Among which of these groups would Saddam Hussein have found his most reliable supporters?

Islamic Brotherhood
Baath Party
Communist Party
Hamas
Israelis

If you have any comments or questions about the quiz, please email americancivicliteracy@isi.org.
You can consult the following table to see how freshmen and seniors scored on each question.
I did better than I thought I would.

I would go with a 50% passing rate.

Understanding political factions in nations such as Iraq helps voters make intelligent voting decisions based on foriegn policy.

Do you really want someone voting who thinks that Saddam Hussein was supported by Israel - or Hamas?

Knowing what the Baath Party is and how they relate to other political groups in Iraq also demonstrates a general awareness of life on the planet outside ones personal bubble of air - which is something that all voters should possess.

This was taken off the site the OP got the test off of:

Traditional Values

The values, customs, conventions, and norms of the Judeo-Christian tradition inform and guide a free society. Without such ordinances, society induces its decay by embracing a relativism that rejects an objective moral order.
About - ISI in Depth - home.isi.org

Like I said, the OP has a specific agenda.

You mean this?

"The values, customs, conventions, and norms of the Judeo-Christian tradition inform and guide a free society. Without such ordinances, society induces its decay by embracing a relativism that rejects an objective moral order."

Guilty as charged.
