I mean, what the heck, at least the cardinal is Ohio's state bird.
Lol, I like it!
I still have a ton of friends in MO, right now, no one gives a rats butt about decorating for Halloween, everyone is displaying Cardinal red.

Well as for the Halloween thing I just don't read into it as much. I grew up in a different time, I guess. As for baseball, if the Cleveland Indians aren't in it, then I don't really care. I'm a football fan first and foremost. But, I don't have any dislike for the Cardinals, and being that our state bird is a cardinal, then what the heck?
Um....everyone is watching the playoff games in the evenings, for one.
You have to understand the dynamics of STL city vs STL County to get why the idiots in the county (you know, the white-flight idiots who are frightened of their own shadows) think that STL city is a crime-ridden rubbish heap.
I shant bore you with the details, but its a well-known phenomenon to the natives.
Oh.......Go Cards!
12 in 12!
I have to take exception to you calling me nobody. I don't watch baseball on TV because I would rather watch grass grow on a golf green that watch a couple of guys play catch with a member of the other team standing there with a bat in his hands and that umpire calling balls and strikes. What position did I play in the days when I played baseball? Why I pitched, of course.
You called me nobody when you said everybody is watching playoff games. Get it?
As someone who does not like PC and thinks people need a thicker skin, I can see that this one could be construed by a wide range of people as... weird.
While I don't think the decorator's intent was to represent lynchings, that is sure what it looks like to me. To someone whose family legacy includes racial based lynchings in the last century, yeah, I can see how such imagery would bring up a negative association.
Of course, death by hanging has been one of the signature execution methods in European and European-derived societies (i.e. The U.S.) for millennia before the first White man encountered the first Black man, yet many American Blacks see hanging as a specifically racist affront to their community.
I find it very interesting that you are posting things like this.
What do you know of racial discord in STL?
Tell me about North St Louis.
It's not just one area. This happens in certain forms everywhere. Try again.
