Iran is ready to buy Russian weapons and military equipment for an amount of 11 to 13 billion, announced Friday the director of the Center for Global Trade Analysis weapons Igor Korotchenko.
"Iran is destined to become a natural partner of Russia. This country is soon ready to buy Russian weapons for an amount of 11 to 13 billion dollars," said Korotchenko after a roundtable the problems of the Middle East, which took place Friday at RIA Novosti.

Not really. They've been with some crappy armies that the US decided to fight cause they knew they were practically defenseless. But a lot of Russian weaponry is good in the right hands and as long as it's modern.
Migs are crap? MI-24's are crap? Russia builds some pretty solid weapons platforms. The ak is legendary for a reason.
Cause it stole it's design from a German weapon? Look at most Russian planes like the Mig 25: based off of f 15 eagle. Mig 21 legendary plane based off of a German design.

It is actually pathetic that Russia flushed its potential ally, but then we have a zero tolerance policy to the creation of nuclear weapons - and Tehran's behaviour was unreasonable.
