Speaking of getting a clue....Obama never said a word during the debate about the Marines training with bayonets or otherwise.
Jeez, wth is with people?
What he said was:
Quote:
You mentioned the Navy, for example, and that we have fewer ships than we did in 1916. Well, Governor, we also have fewer horses and bayonets, because the nature of our military's changed. We have these things called aircraft carriers, where planes land on them. We have these ships that go underwater, nuclear submarines.
Nov. 3, 1909 - Lieut. George Sweet was taken up as a passenger in the first Army Wright aircraft by Lieut. Frank P. Lahm, USA, at College Park, Md. Lieut. Sweet is credited with being the first Navy officer to have flown in an airplane.
Jul. 11, 1919 - The Naval Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 1920 provided for the conversion of the collier Jupiter into a ship specifically designed to launch and recover airplanes at sea an aircraft carrier later to be named Langley. The engineering plans for this conversion were modified in November and included catapults to be fitted on both the forward and after ends of the "flying-off" deck.
For those who don't understand "Sarcasm" The President was basically telling Romney that due to our vast technological advances since 1917 the Navy doesn't need the same amount of ships! We didn't have nuclear subs or Aircraft carriers back then like we do now!
Does Romney think having the same amount of ships as we did in 1917 makes us "powerful" again? Why doesn't he worry more about such important things that really matter to our National Security instead like "Mali"!!!!!!!
Speaking of clueless.....if you had bothered to read the thread, you would have known that the POTUS never said anything about Marine k-bars, or any kind of Marine bayonet.
He said that the military uses fewer bayonets, that was a lie.

Read the below post and TRY to understand the big words.

Yep you are clueless, did you look at what this poster was quoting? I guess not....
The story of those men is told in the book "Horse Soldiers - The Extraordinary Story of a Band Of U.S. Soldiers Who Rode to Victory in Afghanistan" by Doug Stanton.
Terrific, terrific book about a tremendously brave group of American Green Berets.
(And they were more concerned with BFK's than bayonets. To anyone who understands the reference.)
Wow, this is still going on? The Cons must really be desperate if this is what they are latching onto from that last debate....Obama was cracking a joke about Romney comparing our Military to 1917....anyone with part of a brain knows that our Military today is much more advanced than 1917.
But hey, you guys keep up your fake rage, it is funny and sad all at the same time.
Yep...unable to back up your claim...that is NOT a surprise.
I said I was not surprised you did not read the link. You didn't get it?
I remember you also could not understand the articles which were provided to you showing Mitt Romney was pro gun-bans, and actually banned certain kinds of guns in MA, because he said they were "made for killing".
