Call it a retroactive income tax if you like, but it is time the ppl that ran up this debt with the raids on the treasury and their unfunded wars catch up on their dues.
Unfunded wars? If you took out the $1 trillion you guys attribute to "unfunded wars" we still have $15 trillion in debt. In fact, last year if we had spent zero on defense - not a dime - we still would have had a $600 billion deficit.

Keep studying.

Good, fill in these totals, too.

Unfunded tax cuts up to now?
u
Unfunded Medicare Part D up to now?

Reduced tax revenue that was caused by the economic downturn up to now?

Increased spending (food stamps, unemployment, etc) caused by downturn up to now?

We forgetting there was a debt balance when Obama took office? You wouldn't be trying to lay the whole thing on him, would you?

Oh, and by the way, most ppl estimate the long term costs of the wars are two or three times what you suggest.

But back in reality...

I didn't forget the federal deficit was doubled after 2008 so bankers could keep their mansions, Ferraris and super-yachts instead of paying their gambling debts... and I doubt most of America will have either when Papa Obama asks us to pay the bill.

VERY bad stuff coming down the pipe...
That's why Mr. O is the figurehead Chief-of-Stuff. Equitable blame cast on a do-nothing, stand-still government. Why else are social issues like 'marriage' equality', 'wars on women' & cries of racism is the only attention getters these last few years? The financial mess that is our federal government is always mentioned, but most Americans have no idea of what to do about and even less know how it works outside of textbook memorizations.

Oh, yeah. WE have VERY bad stuff coming down real soon! But alot of folks want that. Really! Too many feel the urge for revenge...

Did you say anything important? I stopped reading after I read, "Mr. O is the figurehead Chief-of-Stuff". If you gotta spice up your posts with childish nonsense like that I assume you have little to say.

Fictional facts, fake evidence, false science, voodoo economics, and a biased education.

Especially, when the interest due is being paid with borrowed funds.

In fact, any deficit is unacceptable in a sane society - but we're insane - let's pass on that issue.
"A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the majority discovers it can vote itself largess out of the public treasury. After that, the majority always votes for the candidate promising the most benefits with the result the democracy collapses because of the loose fiscal policy ensuing, always to be followed by a dictatorship, then a monarchy."

As long as the "Takers" can outvote the "Makers", the end result is collapse.
Taker or Maker, which one are you?

Thank you. I couldn't have had a response that gives as good a glimpse into conservative thinking if I has offered a reward. According to you, education is liberally biased; Keynesian economics, which conservatives believed in when it suited them and is a model that held up 100% in this crisis, is "voodoo economics" while believing in the myth that tax-cuts increase government revenue is not. I presume "false science" means evolution and climate change, where the scientific consensus about man-made global warming -- which includes 97% to 98% of researchers in the field, according to the National Academy of Sciences, is getting stronger, not weaker, as the evidence for climate change just keeps mounting.

As George Gershwin, would say, "who could ask for anything more?"
