Not doing a little research and spewing leftist talking points = typical leftist ignorance....
or shall we say a lemur.....
Speaking of the hockey stick graph, and cherry-picking data, you will note that NOAA excludes Alaska and Hawaii from their data. They dismiss Alaska saying "Alaska was cooler and slightly wetter than average during 2012." In reality, Alaska broke new snowfall records all over the State. Anchorage got 134" of snow, beating the 1956 record of 132". Valdez, Alaska, got well over 400" of snow.
Then in September 2012, Alaska was hit by a typhoon which brought flooding to half the State.

So when NOAA says "Alaska was cooler and slightly wetter than average" I have to laugh.
Obviously NOAA is pushing an agenda.
Cherry picking data? The hockey stick was the "win all" for the lefties to push their agenda....then the same people who made the hockey stick, said it was not really true....

People don't listen to facts and science anymore. They listen to what they want to hear. That is the problem in this country. We used to listen to educated people. Now people listen to Rush and Sean Hannity. They tell them don't worry, the Earth is really flat.
It's become beyond ridiculous.
I mean we have ships sailing around in the Antarctic looking for places to drill for oil, they are sailing in waters NO ONE has ever sailed in before. Russia and Norway are claiming land no one wanted 5 years ago, that much ice has melted.

I guess the truth is being hidden in plain sight.
Yes, you are correct, except people tend to take facts as the "end of story" even when those people who provided those "facts" stated they were in fact, not "facts" people still believe them...as facts....why is that?
Rush and Sean are no different than maddow or any other leftist talking point idiots.....
The truth is there, where you get your information from is different, it is up to you to decide, not what someone tells you it is.....that is a current problem we have in the United States.....a lie has become the truth....because it is told over and over....so it must be true....
It's not for people to decide what is the truth. The truth is the truth regardless of who believes it or not. In this case the truth is rather complex and we can only approach it by looking at statistics. All those recent climate extremes (including coldest this or that, after all, global warming has long ceased to be the real issue, climate change is) should make anyone think twice, be it only for egoistic reasons...

That is the whole point. Nobody knows the truth. How much influence does the sun, volcanoes, the oceans and other natural phenomena have on the climate? Nobody can say with absolute certainty. Just as no one can say with absolute certainty that humans are contributing to climate change. Is the temperature increasing because of CO2, or is CO2 increasing because of temperature?
There are too many unknowns to make any sort of definitive statement. Statistics can only make inferences, they should not be used to draw any conclusions. One or two years of cold or hot weather does not indicate a climate cycle, or even a trend. One eruption from a volcano can alter the planet's weather for a year, possibly even longer. The 1991 Pinatubo eruption lowered the planet's temperature by almost 2°F for 18 months.
To understand climate trends one has to look at the bigger picture, not just years and decades, but centuries and millennial trends. Data that is in short supply. Any temperature data older than a few centuries has to be derived from ice-core samples, which are only taken in one small part of the planet.
When looking at the longer climate trends, it becomes very apparent that modern humans evolved during an ice-age, which we are still in. For the last 10,000 years or so we have been enjoying an inter-glacial warming period, but the ice-age is far from over. It may get warmer in the short term, but in the long run (spanning several thousand years) we are still in an ice-age and it will get much colder before it is over.
Whatever the exact reasons and results are, humans will have to cope with a much more difficult and expensive future...
