If this is the quality of folk in Texas.... no wonder no one would want to go there.

Nah... We just don't take kindly to idiots who have no clue what they are talking about.

That's all.

And no one wants to come here? Lol. Texas only is the fastest growing state with the fastest growing cities in the US. Unlike NY which is losing people in every city aside from NYC.

He's in Corpus, which is a mighty nice place to be. Where are you talking from?

Princeton, NJ.

I'm not doubting that Corpus is decent town. But the low quality posts by him really makes Texas look like uneducated garbage. It's a shame, too.

Texas is not an ideal place for New Yorkers. People are not going to move from one of the best educated states to one of the lowest educated states freely. People in the northeast put a lot of emphasis on education. Their mindset won't mesh well in a state like Texas where education is not a priority.

What I never understood was how high schools in Texas can come up with millions to build giant football stadiums yet they so under fund actual education half of those morons are functionally illiterate. Now you can find stupid people any where but stupid really did seem the norm in Texas. Last time I was in Texas the guy next to me at a Denny's launched into a giant rant about how "Obama is really an Arab" so I asked if he meant a Kenyan only to have a second guy chime in that "Obama is an Arab from Kenya". I wasn't going to waste my time explaining the difference between an ethnic group and a religion or how the President was neither an Arab nor a Muslim because it's just a waste of time with people that stupid.

^ It's all about priorities. Texans just don't care to be educated.

Houston is well...like Dallas, a cultural wasteland. Sprawled out with millions of the same houses with 5 different floorplans. That's not even a city. Fine dining in Houston is Outback Steak House.

New York City? Really...to even sit here and describe it as if it needs describing is a waste of time. I don't even need to talk about the five boroughs. About 5 square blocks of Manhattan has more happening in one night than Houston has in a decade.

Please...chill with the lame comparisons. If you wanna compare Houston to another city, try Kansas City, Atlanta, or Birmingham...something like that. But don't try to take on real cities. Ok?
I disagree. I have lived in Houston and NYC (and am from Chicago). Now, I am not going to pull your leg and say Houston is as amazing NYC, but it is emerging.

I would argue that if there was any city a New Yorker could tolerate in Texas, it's Houston.

You gotta separate Houston (and for the most part, the other cities) from Texas.

I am going to assume you were in Killeen or Waco or some little bumblescum town.

It's not really very fair for you to not mention where in Texas you were because quite frankly, you can find such attitudes in a small town in any state.
