Now that Obama has started his 2nd (and last term, what do you think the GOP should do?
I personally think they should stick to their guns (no pun intended) regarding the core issues
1. taxes
2. debt ceiling/spending
3. Abortion/religious rights

Everyone knows that Obama is a lame duck now. The 2014 mid-terms should be the turning point for the country (and both parties)
The party that clearly defines their position on the issues will win the mid-terms. And the party who wins the mid-terms will likely win the presidency in 2016.
Any thoughts?

Republicans best option ?

Just go away . . . The majority of country has made it clear they don't embrace feudalism, racism and misogyny as their political ideology. Twice.

Moving the map around will do that.

They tried to rig the general election too through voter suppression, but that backfired.

They should jettison the rabid religious right, teapartiers and neocons and re-embrace actual conservative ideals which the GOP once stood for a few decades ago in the pre-Reagan era.

It has become quite clear they should learn not to speak on topics such as female reproduction, science and global politics. Because whenever they do they come across as Dark Aged imbeciles.

An actual conervative would never want gov't interference in the rights of consenting adult couples to marry based on their gender. An actual conservative would never want gov't interference into the reproductive choices of individuals.

The abortion issue is a canard. Roe v. Wade will never be overturned (nor should it be) and even if it were, the question of abortion would simply revert back to state's rights. It's not as if all 50 states are going to ban abortion or regulate it into nonexistence.

If it weren't for Gerrymandering there are a lot of locked down Dem. districts that would never had existed. Funny how liberals only cry about things when they don't work out to their advantage.

So now Republicans are the only party that participates in Gerrymandering?

Some of you are pathetic and need an education desperately.

Yeah, no rightwingers ever did such a thing.

Wh are so many people so entrenched in being partisan hacks? I just don't get it...

Republicans/Democrats...two sides of the same bitter coin.

Any thoughts?
1. The tax thing is already settled.
2. They talk about cutting spending but if history is any measure they are pretty weak on the topic in reality.
3. Abortion is a settled issue only brought up to fleece the gullible into giving campaign donations.
