If it weren't for Gerrymandering there are a lot of locked down Dem. districts that would never had existed. Funny how liberals only cry about things when they don't work out to their advantage.
I agree. And I'm not a dem.

I personally think they should stick to their guns (no pun intended) regarding the core issues
1. taxes
2. debt ceiling/spending
3. Abortion/religious rights

Everyone knows that Obama is a lame duck now. The 2014 mid-terms should be the turning point for the country (and both parties)
The party that clearly defines their position on the issues will win the mid-terms. And the party who wins the mid-terms will likely win the presidency in 2016.
Any thoughts?
Winning the mid terms has no bearing on who wins the presidential election. The key to the midterms is voter turnout. If a lot of Americans vote in the 125,000,000 range the conservative party will lose. If 40million+ fewer Americans vote like in the 2010 midterms the conservative party does well.

They only way the conservative party wins is if 10's of millions of voters stay home. That's not really being popular and ensures loses during presidential elections when more people vote.

I agree 100%. Republicans may in fact need to moderate. But this isn't the time to do it. Obama isn't proof of anything. He's a cult of personality type figure and the first black President. It's a mistake to take support for him as support for the Democrat agenda. Plus, he didn't win in a landslide. There was no overwhelming mandate for liberal policies. At this time I agree completely that the best thing to do is to stick to our guns and ride his administration out. If we get killedin 2016, then it's time to really look at the conservative message and see if maybe the country is no longer the center right place it used to be. Right now it is too early to do that. There's no sense in abandoning the base off just 1 lost election. We smashed the Democrats in 2010 and that was just 2 years ago. It's way too early to conclude that conservatism is dead. Stay the course, let the Obama wave wash over us, then come back up for air and see where we're at come 2016.

The word is Gerrymandering,

All the repubs did was to correct the asinine districts the dems set up after the previous census.

Their best option is to be more quiet and reserved...they talk too much. Obama is intentionally trying to raise the debt as high as possible, and by the summer at the latest things will easily show another bad approach. Obama is giving breaks to solar junk and everyone who knows anything knows the necessitous is the mother of invention, not free lunch, thats a given and a sure way of knowing the whole thing is corrupt...it just cannot be justified and has strategy in complete reverse.

Rubio is not the answer...hes too eager, u don't want that. Eager is all about self gain...you don't want self gain, self gain is the problem with leadership. Eager is villain number #1 ( make a note) D Issa has the temperament and honesty, Ryan has the honesty but needs to chill out a little which will happen naturally for his unique manner. You want the opposite of Obama...everyone knows this and the leftists are just too proud and arrogant to say. Now...

What happens when a referee in a hockey match goes into brealk up a fight..? The two combatants act far more ferociously....why..? because the referee in themselves has been out powered somewhat by the suggestion in the ref...so they are free to go animal 'knowing...the ref will moderate on behalf of civility...( these are issues with war as well

so heres the deal....the left politicians 'knows this thing is a mess but they want to hang onto their jobs and are flakes. If the right is more quiet the left will more normally take over the ref moderating reality in this and start fighting amongst themselves...why..? because they know they are the problem, a bad economic future which is their baby all to themselves...

notice how its issue after issue after issue....these are all part of a failed leadership screening truth in issue by constantly being involved in yet another...the idea and strategy ( sit up....We are going to frustrate you to no end until you finally realize that theres not enough time in a day to get to the bottom of all these things and you will throw your hands up...and give up....meanwhile we will not stop hitting you with garbage all the while creating even more issues...

The right are not , well lets say in a game of chess not so good....and thats allot of the problem today...everyone thinks they are the cats meow and can't be told...(Rubio is a mistake, too eager, too much know it all....you don't want that...plus experience in basic life and all that comes with it...a guy who would be good would be very quiet at his age..not the worlds solution to all of its problems...there are rules in life and personalities that no two legged person made up.

It has become quite clear they should learn not to speak on topics such as female reproduction, science and global politics. Because whenever they do they come across as Dark Aged imbeciles.

An actual conervative would never want gov't interference in the rights of consenting adult couples to marry based on their gender. An actual conservative would never want gov't interference into the reproductive choices of individuals.

The abortion issue is a canard. Roe v. Wade will never be overturned (nor should it be) and even if it were, the question of abortion would simply revert back to state's rights. It's not as if all 50 states are going to ban abortion or regulate it into nonexistence.
you (almost) sound like you are a conservative? I'm not buying it though.
female reproduction? thats NOT the issue at all. The much bigger issue is the intentional killing of millions of babies. Now, before you say it, here are the REAL issues
1. MOST (i.e. over 90%) of all abortions are for the convenience of the mother and/or father.
2. The "pro choice" position is to offer abortion as the #1 option. They refuse to endorse or encourage adoption as an alternative.
3. marriage is based on "gender". You must be talking about gay rights? If so, most conservatives are Christian. The Christian definition of marriage is 1 man and 1 woman. Thats the "gender" aspect of it. Nobody is refusing a man or a woman marriage according to God's law. Other "marriages" are contary to a productive society.
4. States rights? Ok, not all 50 states would ban abortion. But, a majority would! And, FYI, 30 (or more) states have already banned gay marriage. So, your positions again are on the losing end.
