The government told us ...the recession ENDED June 2009.

We've been on a recovery ever since.
Now compare that to the record number of people enrolling in food stamps and applying for SSDI.

Are we recovering or what here because the welfare program numbers say just the opposite.
If welfare is increasing, then either we are not recovering, or somebody made it easier to get welfare.

Not to mention there was a whole food stamp campaign going on that I read about

Were located at axz....in Charlotte. KaaaaBamm, smoke was billowing from my ears! My tax dollars supplying her restaurant with inventory. Needless to say, I called the local office and reported this breathing cancer cell.

I have seen it. I don't recall if it was a Caddy, and there was very little beer and cigarettes, but the folks in front of me in line were, as they used to say, "dressed to the nines", and they bought a lot of stuff that I couldn't afford to buy (at the time I was working for an aviation company, 50+ hours per week, a licensed aircraft mechanic). Mommy was wearing a very nice dress, daddy and junior were both wearing suits and ties. They loaded their steaks, soda, snacks, etc. into a vehicle that was less than 2 years old, after they paid for the stuff with FOOD STAMPS!
Like a great many "myths", this one is based on FACT! Perhaps the facts have been stretched over time, but the basic facts still existed 20 some years ago. As stated, I saw it!
LMAO...I gotta admit that at least the stories are getting better. Still not believable, but better than the old trite ones were.

Keep workin' on 'em though.

Open your eyes while you are out from under that rock you live. Watch and see how blatant
people abuse your tax dollars. Detroit is a great place to view the festiviites.

Anyone who doesn't like the government should get on food stamps/welfare and abuse the system as much as they can. The more we leech, the faster it dies.

Only a coward of a man calls the police on anyone, especially an elderly woman.

There could be some truth to the first story. This woman might have used a government issued card to pay for her purchases. However, this card could have been for child support and not food stamps. Not saying it was, just saying it could have been.

I had a friend who got child support for three kids (from three different daddies) and it all went on her state issued card. Yes, she did also get food stamps on the same card. When the state gets involved with collecting child support they give you a card and you use that to spend it.
I never got involved with any child support issues, so really am only going by what went on with my friend.

The second story is just that - a story. Hey, but it was funny... as was the follow-up "wife" story.

So you want them to pay more taxes when they already pay a majority?

So what if they still have money for luxuries. THEY worked for it. They took it upon themselves to educate themselves, get the experience and move up the chain.
Business owners carry the risk of being in business. Why should they not earn more?

People earning under $25,000 don't pay any taxes. Why shouldn't they pay their fair share either?

You want to move up in the world and earn a decent living, then get off your ass and work for it.
