Crap I forgot about the evil Acid Rain from the 1980s.

It was gonna kill all the fishies in North America and every single tree in Canada. lols. Nothing ever came of that either. lols.

They same "scientists" that now claim climate change is gonna ruin the planet were wrong about acid rain 30 years ago. Just as they have been wrong about every other thing they ever predicted. lols. And we're supposed to take them serious;y now.

Because it's science! It can't be wrong! lols

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say they keep pushing global warming because it tends to get a lot of research dollars thrown their way when these other "disasters" didn't.

Some people are dopey enough to believe them this time. Those people are called Democrats.

Actually what we have is the rich and powerful oil lobby feeding the ignorant huge piles of propaganda that humans have no effect on the climate...Anybody with half a brain can see that we do.

We throw away more than enough food to feed every one of those people 3 squares a day.

They happen to live in non-capitalist countries though. Big government isn't really good at getting people resources. Capitalism is.

It has nothing to do with too many people or not enough food.

But what do I know? I only have a M.A. in Demography. I never studied up on population stuff.

So much for the left wing loons and their belief in "science"

Peer-Reviewed Survey Finds Majority Of Scientists Skeptical Of Global Warming Crisis - Forbes
But something like 99 % of climate scientists do. Geoscientists are the ones working for the big oil and mining companies primarily, so they are going to be an unbiased group. What would engineers know about climate change?

I hope you don't also think that evidence-based medicine is for the loons.

Yes, while those with a full brain know it is assinine to think that any influence man and his activities has are significant when overlaid on the massive changes from nature.

I take it you are in the half-brain camp>

Remember in 2006 when everyone claimed a few hurricanes in the Gulf of Mexico was proof that man was changing the environemnt.

Man hasn't changed one bit sonce 06 yet the hurricanes stopped. lols.

I can't believe people are moronic enough to believe we can change Mother Nature.

Hell, we could all have San Diego weather is that was the case.

Hahahahaha ! This is too funny. Who do you think the original study targeted for this survey?

In their own words, from the original scientific article:

"To address this, we reconstruct the frames of one group of experts who have not received much attention in previous research and yet play a central role in understanding industry responses – professional experts in petroleum and related industries. "

Totally unbiased I'm sure....

The conclusion of the study is that "the majority of ‘command posts’ within organizations, especially in the petroleum industry, seem to be manned with opponents to the IPCC and anthropogenic climate science who are actively engaged in defensive institutional work. " In the author's own words. I will translate: the scientists are being paid to deny manmade climate change.

That's the point of the article.

Who cares what this study says.

We know that the same morons that want us to believe in global warming (or is it climate change this week) are the same morons that were wrong about:

Global Cooling
SARS
HIV
Three Mile Island
Love Canal
Overpopulation
Swine Flu
Red Dye #3
Deforestation
Ozone depletion
Cancer causing cell phones
Desertification
Running out of drinking water
Kuwati oil fires
Killer bees from Mexico
Runnung out of room in landfills
Urban Sprawl
Food shortages
Acid Rain.

This is list is certainly does not include everything these morons have been wrong about. Just a small sample.

But somehow we're supossed to take their "studies" as legit?

Nevertheless, the study that is the focus of the OP's thread in NO WAY supports his assertion that there is a "science consensus--global warming is bunk." In fact, it shows that the petroleum companies are paying scientists within their ranks to lie about the evidence ---all for profits ! And why would they need to do that? Because the evidence is over-whelming. There is a plethora of real evidence that man-made carbon dioxide increases have caused climate change. It is evidence. It's not a matter of belief. It's happening. And it's a major concern.
