Bush has the dubious legacy of ending his presidency with a net LOSS in jobs created. Right-wingers would be wise to never ever ever mention him again.

Barack's legacy was sealed the day he got elected as the most UNQUALIFIED person ever to hold the office.

Let's not forget that a part of the labor force declining also has to do with the fact that more and more baby boomers are also hitting retirement age.

Off the Charts Blog | Center on Budget and Policy Priorities | Why Is Labor Force Participation Shrinking?

The "how will we replace retiring baby boomers?" issue was around well before the recession meaning the labor force drop off was going to occur recession or not. The recession just hits those not at retirement age as well.

I don't hate Obama, I just hate people who distort the data.

Are you going to thank Obama for the 63.2% Labor Force Participation Rate --- the lowest in the US since 1983?

As your LFPR continues to decline, do you understand that you cannot pay for Social Security and Medicare? And yet you want a "single-payer" system.

Are you going to thank Obama for guaranteeing that you pay higher payroll taxes?

Is there a particular reason you ignored this....

Series Id: LNU05026645
Not Seasonally Adjusted
Series title: (Unadj) Not in Labor Force, Searched For Work and Available, Discouraged Reasons For Not Currently Looking
Labor force status: Not in labor force
Type of data: Number in thousands
Age: 16 years and over
Job desires/not in labor force: Want a job now
Reasons not in labor force: Discouragement over job prospects (Persons who believe no job is available.) 2013 January 804 February 885

More discouraged workers....wow, no surprise there....at least not for me.

And this...

...you forgot to mention there's a difference between 13 Million unemployed and a 65.4% Labor Force Participation Rate and 13 Million and a 63.2% Labor Force Participation Rate.

But hey...no point getting hung up on "minor details" that will cause economic harm.

Not impressed...

Well it was actually humming along pretty good until 2007 when the obstructionist Dems took over the senate/house...

Yes! Not only that but the stock market is breaking records every day and mortgage rates are at record lows and still falling. Saw an ad for 2.75% on TV! Thanks to President Obama for fixing what the Republicans destroyed.

When nobody can afford to drive their cars because of high gas prices, insurance costs and the price of cars, the number of auto related deaths will be down. I guess that you'll credit obama with that too!
