So then you admit that George Bush implemented this "Obamaphone" policy that Conservatives derided and mocked during the election? Good, I'm glad you're learning.

Default Wall Street Journal Payrolls in U.S. Rose More Than Forecast; Jobless Rate at 7.7%

Another drop in unemployment rate!

Payrolls Rise as U.S. Jobless Rate Reaches Four-Year Low - Bloomberg

Quote:
Employment rose 236,000 last month after a revised 119,000 gain in January that was smaller than first estimated, Labor Department figures showed today in Washington. The median forecast of 90 economists surveyed by Bloomberg projected an advance of 165,000. The jobless rate dropped to 7.7 percent, the lowest since December 2008, from 7.9 percent.
Economy keeps getting better.

Republicans keep getting more upset.

Go figure?

I have a feeling that there will be a direct correlation between the economy getting better and right-wingers becoming more unhinged.

Well with less people working of course your numbers are going to go down.
Yeah..I know they either won the lottery or retired.
The labor participation rate has gone from 66% to 63% since 2008.

2) The labor force participation rate is dropping and now at a record low of 63.5%. That means that fewer people are even in the workforce and actively looking for work, artificially lowering the unemployment rate.

3) Job growth in 2012 through now has been lower than 2010 and 2011 on a monthly basis. February seems to be an aberration. It is highly inconsistent with little sustained momentum. BLS is also constantly revising stats; look at monthly net changes in employment and you'll see that they flop around from good to bad to good to bad again. On an annual basis, it's consistently a meagre 1.5% or so, which is pretty low.

The economy isn't particularly improving under Obama, but rather being painfully slow in its recovery. And don't expect any of these policies to change that.
1. The unemployment numbers are falling regardless of the rate seeing as we are gaining employment not decreasing it.

Here is where the Republican Logic of going by the overall number of people over the age of 18 goes into play. When Obama was elected,"real" unemployment was at something like 16.5, now it is down to something like 9.4.

2. i explained this on another Forum, labor force participation rate will fall for the the next 12 years because the percentage of Baby Boomers leaving the work force exceed the number of young people entering it. This was predicted along time ago, why is it all of a sudden part of the Republican argument against Obama ?

3. February was in 2013( just had to say that), but we could very well argue that the change in Job growth has slow down because of Republican obstruction and control of the House of Representatives. When Pelosi controlled it, jobs came back pretty fast.

And to use another Republican argument against you, "the Stimulus hurt jobs in 2010, then the money ran out and the real recovery started" ,and yet we still had larger growth per month in 2010

Also, none of the numbers flipped from good to bad, some went down 3 or 4 thousand and others got revised up 20,000. the Net assessment of revision has always been a better result than previously thought of overall.

The very definition of the Economic term "recovery" means that the economy is getting better. Not really sure how you can look at Feb 2009 and say we arent better off today.

-700,000 Vs + 236,000

Again, there are more people leaving the work force than entering it because baby boomers make up such a large portion of the population.

13,000 people turn 18 every day ( we are assuming the rate is the same for 16 year olds or slightly higher)

Turning 16 does not equate to entering the work force as most high schoolers dont work.

My math sucks, so catch my errors from here on out

13,000 X 365 =4,745,000

of those who graduate high school, 68% go to college or some technical school/training program, of that 68%(3,226,600) 38% are looking to enter the work force working( 1,226,108)

even if we assume the entire other 32%(1,518,400) is looking for a job that is a total of 2,744,508 turning 18 that are entering the work force.

3,650,000 - 2,744,508 = 905,492

i have to also say that the average for Baby boomers starts at a very low end, something like 4,000 a month in 2009. So the average is misleading as even more people will be retiring on average in the following years.

So the work force is going to shrink for the next 12 years if population trends are right. Why is this a surprise to republicans ?
all those numbers came from the BLS by the way.

Pretty sure it was us Democrats who called you Cons on that when you started posting that video, not the other way around. And you also should tell your other Republican friends who obviously dont know the program started under Reagan( house phones) that it wasnt Obama's phone either as they continue to claim it is all over this forum.

You are pretty sure? Well you are wrong. And you keep thinking that Obama is going to give you free stuff lol

That lady gave away the most valuable thing she has (her vote) for a free phone. Of course she does not know the facts hence why they are called low information, low expectation people. Dems, Libs accept lies, defend Obama when he is caught lying. They are easy to maniuplate and they are CHEAP.
