Did you get your Bushphone yet?

In fact, it was President George W. Bush who approved expanding the Universal Service Fund to pay for cell phone service for the poor.

Seems like all the bases have been covered.
It does not take rocket science to figure out that there would be even more jobs if corporations were not outsourcing to feed their enormous greed.

More people just happen to be dying and retiring at the greatest rate since 1981. This is pure coincidence of course.

From the link in the OP:
Actually yes....more people are dying and retiring now. They are called Baby Boomers. Couple that with the recession, employers making due (and profits) with less employees and "fear of hiring" and you have a perfect storm of unemployment and a shrinking labor force.

Another classic right-winger tactic. Blame the Dem controlled congress. Its BS though--all signs pointed to the looming recession well before the Dems took over:

Recession looming over US economy -DAWN - Business; September 25, 2006

The recession began months after the '07-'08 fiscal year began. Blame that weak sauce president with his credit card wars and deregulation of banks and Wall Street. We were ripe for a disaster, thanks to Bush.

I am sure everyone regardless is happy with the turn around. That btw was bound to happen. What goes up, comes down and visa versa. It just took a longer time than most had expected. Now, let's see what happenss when the interest rates start climbing, which they will, they have to...

The true number should take the following into account:

Unemployment Number
Labor Force
Number of people on welfare
Lets also not forget about pay rates. How many of those jobs are burger flippers?

If the unemployment number goes down but the labor force and welfare rate goes up then it tells you that more people are out of the work force (retirement, dying, or going on welfare) and we are not doing so well.

If unemployment number goes down and the labor force and the welfare rate stay the same or moves lower then it is possible that the economy is better.

See you have to look at everything not just at the numbers Obama wants you to see. Obama and the Obama lovers want to just look at the Unemployment numbers. But hey, if you Obama lovers are satisfied with your standard of living and the state of the economy then Obama is doing his job, mission accomplished, you made it and Obama doesn't need to do anything more than play golf.

Knd of strange you are hppay bgut Obama wants more sti, ulus spedning. I think its more apprpreaiate to congraduate the FED and business that have donw the pullig of the load. Governamnt has doe nothing except pay welfare type payments. I'd eait tho as the bill is comig due and likely to see first bill with cuts and when FED stops the liquideity.Remember both aprties agree that the 1.2 trillion in cuts is only a down pl=ayment on what needed.

Why would employers have a "fear of hiring"?
