There is some martial arts moves that you could use to disarm someone, but you have to be very quick and be able to stay focused.

The U.S. isn't more violent than other OECD nations in terms of homicide and serious assaults?

My dad, who drove an armored car for a living, would be interested in hearing this wonderful idea that he shoudlnt have been carrying a gun, and used martial arts to stop speeding bullets from flying through the air...

Hey, You should work for the Army.. Imagine how much money you could save the taxpayers if you could just teach those pilots to not use fighter jets, but just fly through the air all on their own, kicking and punching missles...

I've got 9 years of military hand to hand combat training under my belt along with a few years of martial arts training, your comments are beyond ignorant. Against an armed attacker, your martial arts training is only going to do you any good once they're close enough to make physical contact with you and anyone who knows anything about self defense knows that the last thing you want if you can help it is a physical altercation with someone who is armed. Someone with a self defense firearm has the ability to defend their life long before an attacker gets close enough to physically harm them.

Disarming someone actually is possible, but only if you are held at gunpoint. If the shooter is at a fair distance away than yea you're better off with a gun.

No 1, 2004

The OECD will come up with whatever numbers it needs to in order to push it's agenda, that's why you use their graphs.

Anything is possible but would you rather have someone point a gun at you with or without the ability to point a gun back at them? From 10' away all the martial arts training in the world isn't going to stop a bullet.
