Obama has repeatedly stated that he immediately gave instructions to secure Americans in harm’s way, it is still unclear to whom he gave these instructions. What is clear is that they were not given to the people who were actually in a position to help.

Counterterrorism Security Group (CSG) is an interagency group that specializes in both hostage situations and any terror attack on U.S. interests. CSG was never convened during or after the attack.

A protocol set forth in presidential directive calls for the CSG to be convened in the event of a possible terrorist attack. It is designed to “synchronize the efforts of all the government agencies that have a role to play in the Global War on Terrorism.” The CSG has multiple options and has the ability to coordinate counterterrorism assets across all the agencies

At best incompetence. You are right about that, an incompetence that cost them their lives. But what happened after the incompetence? Obama goes to Vegas and for weeks, even after the Libyan government says that it was a terrorist attack Obama and Clinton say the attack was because of a video. So what shall we label those actions?

That is what they are trying to figure out. Even though there were Al-Quaeda flags flying everywhere, previous attacks on other government officials in Benghazi, the other governments pulled their people out. The Obama administration denied more security in fact downsized them. 8+ hours during the attack did they call the Counterterrorism Security Group that specializes in both hostage situations and any terror attack on U.S. interests.

It was reported that the Counterterrorism Security Group was never convened during or after the attack.

Osama Bin Laden is dead and Al-Quaeda is on the run!!

This is all about the GOP's fear of Hillary running in 2016...no more...no less.

Quote:
It’s understandable why Republicans are somewhat fearful of a Hillary candidacy. While it’s still very early in the 2016 cycle, her lead in the polls is incredible at the moment and it’s hard to see anything happening that is going to bring those numbers down over the next several years. At the same time, it’s blindingly clear that the GOP still has not dealt with the problems that led to their losses in the last two Presidential election. Until that happens, the prospect of facing a politician on the level of Hillary Clinton must just be terrifying.
Quote:
It's been that kind of controversy for months -- Republicans and Fox News continue to ask questions that have already been answered, and continue to insist there's an amorphous scandal hiding just out of sight, which they can neither identify nor explain. What's more, they just can't let go.

Just to clarify, there was an independent investigation of the terrorist attack on the U.S. consulate in Benghazi, led in part by the former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. There have been multiple hearings in the House and Senate, spanning a half-dozen committees. House Republicans even produced a strange report of their own.

But now House Republicans not only want more hearings, they want a special panel to launch another investigation. Why? To answer unresolved questions. And which questions are unresolved? They haven't the foggiest idea, but seem to think a special committee might find something useful anyway.

LOLOL yea first when Obama was campaigning and saying Osama Bin Laden is dead and Al-Quaeda is on the run, the liberal media accused republicans of the same thing.

How dare anyone doubt or question Obama or Hillary's word, how dare we. The leader of Libya was wrong never our dear leader, he never spins, never lies, never wrong, it's always everyone else's fault.

sickofnyc, go back to thinking the attack occurred because of a video.

The actual investigation of the Benghazi event is continuing. It will follow the appropriate course, they are identifying perpetrators and will bring about resolutions. The Issa, etal. nonsense, is simply that, nonsense meant for nut job consumption.
