Well, I think everyone has just about covered it. Seems like this will be a lonely boycott.

it sounds noble.. but I question the underlying intent behind it.. is it really a representation surrounding what you say? Nevertheless.. I gotta work.. I get paid by tax payers to teach their kids.. so I don't think it would be ok to neglect my kids.. for the sake of some arbitrary group... point is.. us people who really are poor can't afford to miss work.. sorry wish I could help ya out...

The boycott and the reasons for it are a bit convoluted and vague...

But what really strikes me, without surprising me, is that the usual suspects here on CD are making the usual bigoted remarks.

So often I start my mornings scanning through the forum with a cup of coffee and I find myself wanting to take another shower.

I wonder... is it bigotry to point out the bigotry of others?

First you post this:

There is the woman in West Virginia who was raped and tortured for days... blah, blah, blah"
And then, after all the conversation you've raised, you post this:

Obviously, you're not a leader, for if you were, you'd be standing out on the corner, even if all by yourself, taunting the drivers-by cause they ain't standing with you, eh? Being a leader can sometimes be quite a lonely endeavor. That's why there are more followers than leaders. But to be a leader, one must have something substantive to attract followers. To be a leader, you've got to believe in a cause completely, wholly and fully. Also obviously, this ain't it. Better you should have left the second post out of the conversation altogether, eh?

Oh, while I'm not attempting to harshly criticize you, I'm just making a constructive, I hope, observation. YMMV

Agree with the above post. Come on dude, don't let these few opinions sway your decision. If you feel passionate about this, stick to your convictions and boycott. Believe me, this is going around all over the internet so you won't be alone. Unfortunately, I can't join. I gotta pay my lawn care guy every Friday.

I snorted my coffee out my nose onto the laptop on that one. Har-har!
