Wow I didn't know that was the ONLY thing keeping America from unprecedented prosperity!! Since I was never a single mother, I should have been rolling in dough before I left this joke of a country. Wow who knew Americas problems came down to one group of people. People really can't fall for this tripe can they?

Just keep your head in the sand and make cute one liners and ignore the reality on the news every night.

Chicago is a war zone. Most of the soldiers in the war (99%) are products of single mothers.

You don't see a problem...ok. And the sky is purple.

Do you REALLY think that all of America's problems are only due to single mothers??? If by somehow forcing them to marry would create some kind of Utopia? Of course I see a problem, but laying it all at the feet of single moms isn't exactly fair. It's overly simplistic and the problems facing the $tate$ require complex solutions. what if I said the only problem with America is due to the availability of guns-no other causes for America's problems, just guns. I'd get ridiculed like crazy for saying that. It's never just that easy. Australia has plenty of single mothers too, but we're doing just fine thanks, so it has to be more than that.

Times are changing. The "family unit" is becoming a thing of the past.
And it has it's own set of social problems that need to be dealt with.

I agree. This is an example of how welfare is devolving the human race. If welfare didn't exist, women of all social classes would still be looking for husbands. Marriage wouldn't be a subculture of the educated and affluent like it is today.

If marriage was the norm and monogamy was respected there would be no such thing as "studs" because there would be one man for every one woman. Having studs exist is very animalistic. Monogamy is civilization at it's highest level. The only way to bring back marriage is to totally cut off welfare, even if some bastards go hungry in the process...it would be for the best in the long run.

To add insult to injury, the nice guys end up supporting the bastard children of bad boys through taxes that go to pay for single mother's welfare..

I guess you never heard of female hypergamy. It exists and has gotten worse due to the welfare state,

I think there is some middle ground somewhere between 'not seeing a problem' and believing that single Mom's are making the US broke.

It's in there somewhere and probably most of us can agree upon it.

Don't you all remember for a while there were high divorce rates ? And then lots of remarriages ?
That was a generation or two ago.
Now they don't bother getting married.

People just don't believe in long term commitments anymore.
It's not something new though; the trend has been there for a few decades.
